Munich? Salzburg? And how about a lovely-looking lake (the third biggest in Germany), for sailing, boating and walks or bike rides around its shore? Have the heap at Bavaria's Campingplatz Mariengrund, excellently placed in green and peaceful countryside between Munich and Salzburg, a mere couple of kilometres from the vast lake of Chiemsee. Salzburg is 45 minutes' drive from this pretty place and Munich just under an hour, both niftily reached via the A8 motorway close to the site. This is a popular area too for outdoorsy and active types: Chiemsee lake is the biggest in Bavaria (so hefty it's often nicknamed the Bavarian Sea) and the area around the lake, the Chiemgau, is one of the most visited recreational spots in the state. For clambers, the Chiemgau mountains are reachable via hiking paths starting directly from the site. As it's just off the motorway near the exit for Bernau am Chiemsee, Campingplatz Mariengrund is in a handy setting for stopovers on your way north or south, or to settle down at for some time to venture around the region's cities, countryside and attractions. A petrol station where you can fuel up or pick up the required motorway vignettes is just opposite the site. Mariengrund has a takeaway. Dogs are most welcome and can join you on site for free: they'll probably enjoy the countryside around here very much too.

喜欢 Abbiamo passato lì 3 notti e 3 giorni e ci siamo trovati benissimo.
Il personale molto disponibile e piazzole spaziose inoltre i sanitari erano tenuti sempre molto puliti.
Molto comodo anche la vicinanza al paese di bernau che è raggiungibile a piedi in 20 minuti circa e che ha tutto l'occorrente per fare la spesa o mangiare fuori.
Altra cosa notevole è la possibilità di raggiungere monaco di baviera in circa 1h tramite treno che si puoʻ prendere dalla stazione dei treni di bernau.

Bellissima esperienza, ritornerei sicuramente

喜欢 Camping typowo na 1-2 nocki. Dobry jako przystanek w dalszej trasie.

Sanitariaty czyste i zadbane. Można opróżnić campera/przyczepę z nieczystości i zatankować świeżą wodę.

Na plus fakt że psy są mile widziane i śpią za darmo.

喜欢 Angenehmer unkomplizierter Empfang. Versorgungsmöglichkeiten. Ruhig, im Sinne von keine Randale, keine Partys. Schnelle Zufahrt zur Autobahn. Morgens kann zu Unzeiten der Platz schon verlassen werden (sprich: man kann leise den Platz schon 5:00 verlassen.)
Für mein Anliegen, Pause zwischen zwei langen Strecken, einfach perfekt.

喜欢 It’s exactly what it says on the tin! A safe location to stop off, hook up and rest over night. Locations is ideal. Showers and toilet facilities were exceptional. Even serving hot food and beers. A very niche place but worth a visit if you want security and power when transiting Europe. A special mention to the chap who showed us our pitch! Super helpful, polite and friendly 👍🏼

To the lake first, to learn the ropes at the sailing school, take out a pedalo or rowing boat, plunge in for some swimming, or have a stroll or bike ride around the water's edge. Less actively, take a paddle steamer trip for a scenic cruise around the water, or uncover your easel and paints to join in with the many Chiemseemaler artists who have painted the landscape here. Chiemsee has three islands, the biggest two of which (the Fraueninsel and the Herreninsel) can be reached all year round by the passenger ferry of the Chiemsee-Schifffahrt. A monastery of Benedicitine nuns has stood on the Fraueninsel since the eighth century; meanwhile, Herreninsel has two castles, one a former monastery and the other – once home to Ludwig II – modelled on the Palace of Versailles. Cycling and hiking trails from Chiemsee to Chiemgau can be accessed directly from the site.
