Keen to soak up as much of the Black Forest atmosphere as you can – the sights, the sounds, the scents of this gorgeous woodland area? You’ll be able to immerse yourselves fully in forest surroundings at Waldcamping Birkendorf, a small family-run site among the trees about 10 minutes’ drive from Ühlingen-Birkendorf. There are all sorts of forest feels to get acquainted with here, from listening to birdsong to splashing around in the stream that runs past the site. If that’s given you a taste for cool water on your skin, you’ll be pleased to hear that you can get more of that at the Naturena bathing lake, a little under a kilometre away. And there are forest tastes too, as the site has its own restaurant where you can sample local specialities either in the cosy interior or out on the terrace (which cleverly has the play area in sight so that parents can have a drink/meal in peace while still keeping one eye on their kids). A small shop is also on site for those who’d rather do their own cooking, with barbecues provided for alfresco grill sessions too. Other facilities include a launderette, washing-up area, chemical disposal point and bathroom block with toilets and showers. Up for more forest action? There are plenty of options around for hiking, cycling, climbing, watersports and other activities, and some great views from the top of the Riesenbühlturm tower (20 minutes’ drive away).

喜欢 Showers and toilets were hot and clean. Friendly staff and Restaurant had excellent food and service at a reasonable price. Close enough to nice supermarket.

不喜欢 Showers looked tired, however nothing wrong with them

喜欢 Clean facilities. And reliable electricity. Nice people running site. Surrounded by nature with great walking / cycling trails.

不喜欢 Shanty town appearance of permanent caravans/lodges . Pitches had no boundaries or numbers. Pub restaurant only open sometimes.

喜欢 nice natural campsite with lots of forest trails, owners extremely helpful and friendly,will go out of their way to help.
It's situated just 20 minutes from the schlucsee ,a beautiful lake where you can hire all manner of watersports gear,great electric boats fir an hour,goid cafes and restaurants, very clean,not like the uk is anymore!
If you own an e bike you can ride fir miles on almost fresh tarmact roads with no potholes.
Another excursion that we liked was the Rothouse brewery, 10 minutes from the site,park on rhs by tourist info if your in a motorhome, big spaces and walk to it,5 mins,Good restaurant there serving wonderful schnitzel,and you can also visit the brewery shop and buy the different beers.
We brought 12 bottles for 10€ that works out at 70p a bottle!
We will definitely be back to waldcamping most definitely. Thank you owners,see you soon.

喜欢 Emplacement au fond du camping, proche de la rivière, super pour le calme.
Nous sommes arrivés tardivement, vers 20h30 et nous avons pu nous installer, l’accueil était chaleureux.
Les sanitaires sont un peu vétustes mais la pression et l’eau chaude étaient top!
Il y a la possibilité de commander des petits pains pour le lendemain matin.

喜欢 We had a wonderful stay here in August. The campsite was clean, tidy with fabulous reception staff/owners. The pool close by was great and we all enjoyed some lazy afternoons there. We found it a great jumping off point to visit the rest of the Black Forest.

The trails round the forest were lots of fun and the surrounding area has great footpaths and cycling routes….we did wish we’d packed our bikes!

The food in the restaurant was great; our German was hopeless but the staff and family enjoyed trying to communicate and felt so very welcomed because of it.
We would definitely stay here again!

喜欢 Sehr nette Inhaber die den Platz erst vor drei Jahren übernommen haben und sich nun bemühen den Platz zu renovieren und zu aktualisieren. Besonders schön ist der Spielplatz und auch die Lage umgeben von Wäldern. Nebenan das Sägewerk ist interessant und das Naturbad bietet Abkühlung, alles zusammen bringt die Umgebung den Kindern die Natur wieder näher. Insgesamt hat mir der Urlaub sehr gut gefallen

You won’t have to travel far to get a further fix of the forest – it’s a little less than a kilometre to swims in the Naturena bathing lake or kid-friendly walks on the BallForestPath Birkendorf, where you can buy a small wooden ball at the start and use it to play the marble run games along the trail. A little further afield there are lots of scenic spots to seek out, including Schluchsee (20 minutes’ drive), Wutach Gorge (25 minutes) and Titisee (half an hour). For more activity along the way, how about paddleboarding at Windgfällweiher (25 minutes) or crazy golf at Abenteuer-Golfpark Hochschwarzwald (half an hour)? Other days out might take you to meet animals and ride the toboggans at Steinwasen Park (an hour), see exotic beasts at Tatzmania Löffingen (35 minutes) or take urban strolls around Zurich or Freiburg im Breisgau (both about an hour). Or perhaps you’re ready for a drink – in which case, a trip to the Rothaus Brewery (10 minutes) might be rather appealing.
