Southerness Holiday Park

It was clean and well kept, site staff were very helpful on arrival. I can't comment much as I arrived on the Friday at 1pm and had to leave at 3am due to a storm that was severe. Unfortunately I couldn't enquire about an upgrade for accommodation at these early hours so had to leave.

Total lack of communication before arrival. I was due an email 24 hours prior to my arrival with regards to information I. E information pack regarding my stay, notification I'd arrived etc, etc. I received nothing even after sending an email asking for this information.

The bar and events room were both nice but it was a shame due to the current circumstances that we were unable to see them at their best.
Caravan was of good value for money
Check in as it was seamless not having to go into the reception.
The beach and the views superb
Norris in the entertainments venue always had a little chat with us and made us feel extremely welcome. Lovely lad.

Beautiful big site and the private caravans were beautiful.

Maintenance on the caravans should be to a higher standard....the foil wrap on a lot of the kitchen units were either falling of or held on with tape or nails.

Be aware of the location of the trees by the caravans as it was a wild night the Saturday of our stay and all we heard was the constant dripping and tapping of the tree on the van.

Nothing - feels unfair rating as no stars as we didn’t actually get there but if communication had been better could have been a positive review!

The communication! Paid the deposit for the stay then we were supposed to pay the remainder a few weeks later. We emailed x 3 to advise the remaining funds had not been taken. Seemingly an email was sent to us with payment method although we hadn’t seen this stating as no payment received the holiday had been cancelled! We sent a further email to ask why they hadn’t tried to ring us as we were still keen to go. Nothing- then lo and behold- I receive an email asking me to rate the stay!! Another communication lapse seeing as we were told the stay had been cancelled and we didn’t go!!

Nothing the whole place was rammed with people walking around without masks on. As a retired couple we were given a pitch right next to the children’s playground. !!! We just drove out and found another site

Everything. It’s a vast holiday camp not suitable for touring retirees who want some peace and quiet.

The toilets were absolutely disgusting unfortunately. Most of them were shut, some sure to social distancing (understandable) but most of them were blocked and unusable. We thought there was far too many people there for social distancing purposes. We didn’t use the swimming pool as you had to go in your swimming suit and leave in a towel which wasn’t ideal when you have kids. There was also only over 18 bingo at night. Due to the amount of people we wouldn’t have gone anyway.
