To the countryside or to the city? You’ll be able to pick and choose day by day when staying at Standing Stones Lodge. This spacious Co.Down property sits just next to Divis mountain and is about 15 minutes’ drive from central Belfast, so it’s a handy spot indeed for those who like to pack a lot of variety into their break. That location gives you some pretty spectacular views of your surroundings – and there’s plenty more gorgeous scenery around this part of Northern Ireland too. Getting out to see some more of it should be straightforward, as the lodge is only about 10 minutes’ drive from the M1, for access to the motorway network for journeys to the coast, up into the Mourne mountains or in fact to any spot you’ve chosen for a day out. Staying here in the open air is a fabulous way to soak up some of that scenery, and the team that run the property have made sure there are plenty of useful facilities available to help you have a relaxing stay. Well-kept toilets and showers are available, along with added extras like a chemical disposal point and a washing-up area. The whole park is monitored by CCTV to keep guests safe and secure. Sunny days at Standing Stones Lodge can be spent with the kids running around at the play area while you tend your barbecue; there are picnic tables provided for outdoor meals with a view. On less clement days, or if you just don’t fancy cooking, stop by in the park's restaurant – it’s open for breakfast and lunch every day, and dinner from Thursday to Saturday, with a tempting range of good-value classic dishes.

不喜欢 Sold as fully serviced pitchers… not true only 1 water Point… Only electric hook up on pitch ! No waste on pitch!

Very expensive £40 per night not worth half that amount!

Toilet and showers a disgrace no hot water!

Site has homeless/Migrants occupants ?in cabins and wondering around the place gives an uneasy feeling.

Confirmed on Gov website about use of this place for above… was totally unaware and should be stated on information!

Has a feeling of a builders yard cones and rubbish all over the place!

Would not recommend anyone books this site it should not be on Pitch up website!

Will be making a formal complaint to Pitch up about this site !

不喜欢 Advertised as fully serviced pitch but there was no water on the pitch . Showers no hot water. It was expensive at £40 a night.

喜欢 Easy access to Belfast and great views

不喜欢 Whilst clean ,was rather tired, looked like shipping containers for showers etc. pitches were situated on gravel that resembled a car park. The receptionist was reluctant to give any help about what we were susposed to do about parking and facilities etc, no simple site map.

不喜欢 Very compact site. Forgot we had booked EHU in our attempt to not stay right next to other vans.
Food not great at hotel.
Easy access having visited Belfast for the day.

Restaurant was very nice

不喜欢 Facilities for campervans poor . Toilets and shower facilities were in outside sheds, very basic and not clean also no waste disposal areas on site

喜欢 Had some concerns with previous reviews but really wasn't that bad for a campervan overnight. Showers were fine and enough room to get changed in the individual cubicles. Toilets were fine too. Has black water (cassette) disposal. No designated grey water disposal but used one of the drains in the lower carpark. Highlight was the restaurant in the lodge which served good food. And the staff are very friendly.

喜欢 The gentleman on reception was welcoming. Views were spectacular and fantastic walks nearby. The hotel itself was very nice. Close enough to travel into Belfast city centre.

不喜欢 Showers and toilets were in a very poor unkept state. No proper dishwashing area. Pitches were poor and look’s like they’ve never been maintained. Simply gravel with weeds . A lot of people staying here who were not campers etc. Didn’t feel safe, certainly wouldn’t have walked around once it was dark. Unfortunately nowhere else around we could book as they were all full and we needed to be around this area or we would have left.

Boots at the ready… you can walk straight from the lodge onto the Divis mountain trail, or the Black Mountain trail, both of which have gorgeous views along with a good amount of wildlife to spot (see if you can spot any red grouse or peregrine falcons overhead as you look out towards the Belfast skyline). More walks? Head out into the Antrim Coast and Glens Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (35 minutes’ drive) or aim south to the mountains of the Mourne Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (50 minutes). If you’ve not managed to spot any big birds along the trails, you’ll surely have better luck at World of Owls (35 minutes). For magnificent buildings, meanwhile, try Antrim Castle (20 minutes) or Carrickfergus Castle (half an hour). Belfast (15 minutes) is a grand place for a day out too – perhaps visiting the Titanic Museum and Crumlin Road Gaol or taking a black cab tour to learn about the city’s troubled history.
