Anyone who relishes a bit of variety on their holidays should give this award-winning site serious consideration: there are buckets and spades of activities for all ages, both on site and in the immediate vicinity. Tucked into a valley, only a mile away from swathes of Blue Flag beaches, and a 10-minute drive from Dawlish Warren, Cofton Holidays has 80 acres of meadows, orchards and woodland laced with nature trails for visitors to explore. The facilities here will keep the whole family happily entertained for weeks: Cofton's indoor pool has massage jets and hydrotherapy bubble loungers, as well as a sauna, steam room and gym (a small additional charge applies), and there's a splash area with water jets to entertain the kids. Or set off angling instead at one of the five private fishing lakes, to bag a monster carp (24-pounders aren't unknown here). More? Kids can bounce around in the three dedicated play areas or explore the adventure zone in the woods, with activities such as pond dipping and bug hunting laid on in season; if it’s raining, there’s also a games room with amusements and a pool table. After these exertions, retire to the poolside patio of the Swan Inn for a refresher and a snack: the pub opens every night and serves up a good range of grub (breakfast and lunch are also available at weekends), plus regular entertainment including live bands, discos and karaoke in high season. Cofton also has its own fish and chip joint, as well as a shop for any vittles you might need. Wifi across the whole site (charges apply) means staying connected is simple, and it’s also worth mentioning that Cofton has excellent facilities for disabled visitors.

The indoor pool, sauna and steam room will be closed for essential maintenance from 02 June until 10 July 2025. Ashburn Springs Leisure Complex and Amelia's Pantry bar and restaurant will be open all year except for Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Warren Retreat offers evening entertainment during February half-term and from Easter through October. Guests must obtain a permit from reception for fishing. Electricity is metered on site at £0.30 per kWh and must be paid onsite using a pre-paid topup card.

不喜欢 Bar prices far to expensive, no house wine which is always an opportunity to give good value ordered a large glass of white wine and at £10 I think is expensive and I have been a hotel manager for 45 years and not come across a place that does not do a house wine.

喜欢 Lovely setting spacious for our tent set up. Great walking distance into Dawlish Warren. Clean toilet and washing facilities and plentiful across the whole site. Site facilities great for little ones.

不喜欢 Bit pricey at the chip shop and long waiting times but busy periods as expected really.

喜欢 The facilities, entertainment team and the team behind bar worked really hard to make our holiday a special one. Arcade was really good and we loved that there were 4 pool tables and managed to always get on on. Location is fantastic base to go and explore the area, we even went all the way to Newquay in Cornwall. We enjoyed it so much that we have booked to stay at Cofton next July and have recommend it to friends of ours for August this year.

不喜欢 The extras for indoor pool but unless you go to terms and conditions you would not know that you have to pay to get in. I was told steam room/sauna if you want to use it, but not if you were under 16 so could not use it with my son. Charged for internet that would not work. Positives definitely out way the negatives though.

喜欢 Grounds staff very helpful and show you to your pitch which was a nice touch. The camp kept lovely and tidy, outdoor pool area lovely, toilets beautiful and clean, shop well stocked and not badly priced. Would love to revisit and check out more of the amenities!

不喜欢 The chip shop was hugely over priced and the electricity system they have in place is confusing. Asked my husband for his email address to set up an account to load money on, they had already set it up in my email address but we didn’t know. Took us nearly 2 hours to get electricity working. WiFi £12 for 24 hours isn’t the cheapest but does work well.

喜欢 This site is absolutely incredible! The facilities are amazing, especially with young children. The parks, swimming pools, soft play, restaurants, entertainment was all just wonderful.

The motor home pitch was great, spacious and near the facilities we needed. Toilets and showers were very clean.

不喜欢 The only downside we found was that we spent around £50 in the arcade, and won enough tickets for a squishy toy that was worth about £2!!

Wandering just outside the site, the nearby clifftops have pretty walks; there are gentle bike rides around and about; plus beaches and waterways offering more sail-, paddle- and wave-powered action than you can shake a stick at. Take a bus (the stop’s only 100 metres away) to explore a bit further afield: this corner of Devon's jampacked with things to see and do, including castles, botanic gardens, zoos, aquariums, animal farms, model villages and adventure parks. It's a 10-minute drive from the site to spectacular Dawlish Warren, home to a sandy beach and a tiptop nature reserve.
