Life’s little stresses getting you down? Want to stow yourself away for a countryside break where everything is close to your pitch? Come along to Combe Martin’s Stowford Farm Meadows in north Devon for a bit of de-stressing in a rural setting: the park is a mile from the main road down its own private drive and is a well-placed base from which to explore the best of Devon. Set among 500 acres of Devon woodland and meadows, Stowford Farm Meadows falls into the category of ‘very large’ sites – but fear not if your tastes tend towards the more solitary, as the park is divided into five separate fields and feels like several small sites rolled into one. The overall size means there are heaps of facilities and activities for you to try your hand at, from cantering around on horseback with the help of the on-site riding centre, to driving the kids crazy with your swish moves at the crazy golf. Looking for something a bit quieter? There are marked woodland walks into the wildlife-rich Bittadon valley, with nature trails starting and finishing on site. A heated indoor pool is available for a small extra charge; some days, there are also activities here like the aqua inflatable run and 'aqua paddlers' sessions for kids (both at an additional charge). For putting feet up or letting hair down, the site has two bars (with evening entertainment in peak season) and an on-site takeaway. For supplies, Stowford Farm Meadows has a licensed, well-stocked shop for your caravan and camping accessories. And finally? Even the dog will de-stress here, with a friendly welcome and a spacious dog-walking area on site…

喜欢 Reception was very helpful and clean and tidy

不喜欢 Directions around the site was poor pitches are quite steep and staff in the restaurant were not very helpful very poor lighting when we came out of the restaurant in the evening back to the van

喜欢 Cosy pod, close to facilities, comfy bed, close to Combe Martin and ilfracombe

不喜欢 Paid extra for travel cot which was supplied but without a mattress, had to improvise with what we had but obviously wasn’t ideal! Paying extra yours think all the necessary parts would be supplied. Also the pillows and duvet on the double bed had marks on them. And the little stool/table hasn’t been wiped clean.

喜欢 The pod was exactly as described. Very clean and comfortable. All areas on the site were well presented and staff were so friendly and helpful. I’ll definitely be coming back

喜欢 Spacious site, not very busy. Bar and food were good.

不喜欢 Thankfully we were pitched close to a facility block. Plugs were missing from all washing-up sinks! Even one was missing from a privacy cubicle making shaving a challenge!!
The general tidyness around the site was lacking with full bins.

喜欢 Good size pitches. Close driving distance to coast.

不喜欢 Reception for tourers should be done better with a dedicated lane etc as there was no indication of a pull up area and very tight as it is in a car park due to renovations being done on site.

喜欢 Wide open space, beautiful views, very large pitches.

不喜欢 My biggest complaint about the sight itself, is it's kinda miles from anywhere. Making it difficult and with fuel prices just lately, very expensive to go anywhere.
Other things that need addressing but aren't complaints. Internet signal and phone signal are spotty on sight. Being on top of a hill and a very wide open space, leave you exposed to all the weather. These things are not the sights fault, but things you do need to know

Pitch was close to amenities, friendly staff and some great country views.
You will need a car to get anywhere as its a long walk to the main road

不喜欢 Wasn't told at booking there was demolition of buildings but should look great when completed.
This is a cashless site so top up your spending card.
Recycling point by reception and only one, refuse bind in old carts dotted around park

The highlights of north Devon are a pebble throw away, with Combe Martin on the doorstep and the famed harbour and seafront of Ilfracombe a few miles away (if you forget your wetsuit, the clever sorts at Stowford sell them in the on-site shop). Take little monsters to the animatronic dinosaurs, train ride and 250 species of wildlife at Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park where they can help feed the lions or see the birds of prey, or along to Exmoor Zoo for yet more species to see. Not thrilling enough? Let them see stars at the Milky Way Adventure Park with the tallest rollercoaster in Devon, or whirl about the rides and play areas of The Big Sheep.
