Set in the scenic hamlet of Pett Bottom just 10 minutes' drive away from the historic city of Canterbury, Sunnyside Farm Camping is a peaceful rural retreat on a working mixed farm. It has a friendly flock of 100 sheep, a few laidback cattle and birdsong to act as your morning alarm. Come in late April through to May to see the woodlands carpeted in bluebells. At all times of the year, it's also a great base to get out into the sloping Kent countryside before unwinding with a pint and a nice, big meal at the characterful pub-restaurant next door. The 50-mile Coast to Cathedral route across the Kent Downs between Canterbury and Dover passes right by the site. And if you prefer cantering to strolls or cycling? Pay a call to the riding centre in the village, and trek the chalk hills on horseback. Just 25 minutes' drive away from the Dover ferry port and 35 minutes from the Eurotunnel Folkestone, the site is also a convenient overnight stop before you make your Channel crossing. There is a convenient set-up on site, with clean, basic and bright shared washrooms housed in a wooden farm building.

Right next door to a pub

不喜欢 A little tight for the motor home on some of the lanes, and not sure what we would have done if we had met another large vehicle, but that's the price of finding somewhere in such a beautiful setting

喜欢 Single toilet and shower was clean. Single washing up sink in field plus water access tap. Low number of other pitches and quiet (September). Hedges surround so good wind blockage and shaded.
Lovely gastronomic delight pub 100yds away. Football goal!

不喜欢 Gate requiring opening and closing on entry and exit. Narrow road to access.

喜欢 Great location for Gastro pub and country walks. Star gazing on a clear night. Nice clean washing and toilet facilities. There is only one toilet and shower. so not sure what it would be like if several campers were needing the facilities. Maybe they limit the amount of people camping. All in all a lovely little place in fantastic surroundings.

不喜欢 I did not find any waste disposal on the tent site itself. This wasn’t a problem as we could take our trash away.
There was a couple of dog parcels left on the ground in some areas. This isn’t the land owners fault and down to the dog owners.

喜欢 Rustic nature of site. Being near to so many woodland walks and having an excellent pub nearby with lovely restaurant was a blessing. Night sky full of stars too. Great stay- again.

Thank you for taking the time & trouble to provide feedback, we always appreciate it. Normally we limit our field to 3 units (officially we are allowed 10 campers or 20 tents) as we like our guests to enjoy space, I think on the evening you stayed we had some unexpected extra campers turn up. I'm sorry to hear one of the others campers was inconsiderate & made noise into the evening. If you ever stay with us again, please let us know at the time & we will try to resolve things for you immediately so you can enjoy your stay.

Chiens en liberté et famille très bruyante même après 22h. Je suppose que cela n’est pas entièrement du ressort du camping mais cela a impacté notre séjour.

来自经理: Hi Thank you for the feedback. So sorry you found the bathroom facilities dirty. we do request all visitors leave the toilet facilities clean & tidy, we check & clean it regularly, so sad to hear you maybe found it less than perfect during your stay.

Hot water is available in the shower unit, I'm sorry if you weren't aware.

We do ask our guests to be respectful of other campers & I'm sorry to hear this wasn't fully the case during your stay.

For future reference, if you ever have this type of experience again please let us know at the time as we would have happily tried to resolve matters for you there & then to make your stay more enjoyable.

When you’ve walked, cycled and hacked across Kent, there’s only one option left: make for Canterbury (15 minutes’ drive) and punt or canoe your way down the Stour, stopping off for wanders of the Roman walls and guided Chaucer-themed town walks, to finish up in the cathedral. For more adventures in the ancient, the trio of Deal, Walmer and Dover Castles are all half an hour’s drive away and full of sights from times gone by, including a Roman lighthouse, secret World War II tunnels and the Duke of Wellington’s seaside pad. History with a side serving of bells and whistles can be had with a steam ride on the restored Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway (40 minutes). Half an hour away, the Sandwich and Pegwell Bay National Nature Reserve serves up cliffs and saltmarshes, with seal colonies offshore in winter and summer cuckoos and nightingales turning the place into a sound garden. Or visit Britain’s only desert: Dungeness National Nature Reserve (50 minutes) is a landscape loved by waders and migratory birds, made extra picworthy by the looming power station. For more contained encounters with wildlife, try Wingham Wildlife Park, a large collection of small creatures with exotic names such as tamanduas and cloud rats, while bigger beasts including Kent’s only giant anteaters stalk the plains at Howlett’s Zoo; both are half an hour away.
