Forest rangers and active champs – here's a tried and tested site for you. New Forest locals and visitors have got up to all manner of open-air action at Tile Barn Outdoor Centre since it opened in the early 1970s. Set on the edge of the peaceful village of Brockenhurst, the site is a fab launchpad for those looking to get out and about in the New Forest National Park. This spacious 14-acre site has well-maintained facilities like loos, hot showers and a washing-up area, all of which can be reached via an accessible and well-lit path. There’s also a secure entrance gate with a key code, meaning you can relax and play in these green surrounds with extra peace of mind. On top of all that, there's a winning line-up of adventurous activities here, with climbing and archery often available – drop by for a chat with the friendly folk at reception to check what's on offer during your stay. The site is an easy 15-minute stroll from Brockenhurst village centre; the village doesn't have a cattle grid, so it's the kind of place where you may well see donkeys and cows wandering around. Watch them take a dip at the ford while you head to the supermarket to stock up, or treat yourself to a sticky bun from the bakery. A railway station with services to Lymington, Bournemouth, Southampton and London is a 10-minute walk away from base.

喜欢 I cannot fault the staff and facilities at this site, the staff were all really helpful (especially when our tent started leaking in the rain) thank you for helping our stay as easy as possible.

The kids took part in Archery and they had a great time.

喜欢 Nice flat field, great facilities, very nice showers. Our boys enjoyed the Tower activity as well.

喜欢 Staff was great. There were lots of activities for our children. And the fridges for campers was a nice extra

不喜欢 Maintenance felt a bit reactive. It was a bit noise with planes cars and trains to hear.

喜欢 We had a wonderful stay at Tile Barn, toilet and shower block was clean and large. Lovely big site to explore for the children and lots of space to play. Great options for bringing your own tent or the pods or pre pitched tents as well.

喜欢 Staff were great and friendly with a smooth check in. Fridges were great for space and use of a kettle very handy. Tent size was great for 4 of us for 4 nights and allowed to add gazebo for extra space.
Bathroom block generally clean, just the usual campsite grass etc walked in.
Walking distance to Brockenhurst train station and town...approx 15-20mins.

不喜欢 For paying more for a pitched tent, I was disappointed that the tent was soo close to the road boundary, plans trains and lorries all through the night which eased at 1am.
Freezers advertised were not available due to large party on site, meaning all others couldn't use this facility, meant a few tweaks to dinner plans and struggle to keep ice packs frozen for own cool box.
Although not the sites fault. Disruptions at 1 am through older kids presumably from the larger camp bashing the pre pitches tents and running away. Half hour of laughs for them but over an hour of settling the youngest for me.
If you like a hot shower than this is a great place, however showering in burning hot water was a bit much. A lower temperature would be appreciated as you cannot adjust yourself.

不喜欢 Showers were boiling hot and you could adjust the temperature. Wanted to hire a ready to go firepit but was over £20. Quite expensive.

Most folk visiting this spot will find a fair few things to do on site, but when you do decide to venture off you'll be out in the gorgeous open forest in no time. For riverside rambles, pack a picnic and head for the path from Beaulieu to Buckler's Hard (15 minutes' drive), a gentle stroll through varied New Forest countryside that joins up these two stonkingly scenic settings. After watching waders from riverside bird hides or heading out on a boat cruise from Buckler's Hard pier, make tracks back to Beaulieu and check out the National Motor Museum and its splendid cars and motorcycles. This place is more than just a collection of auto memorabilia (although there's plenty here if that's your thing) – visitors can also ride a monorail, traipse through the ruins of Beaulieu Abbey or take tours around plush Palace House. Also about are Hurst Castle Spit (20 minutes), a striking seaside spot with a Napoleonic fortress at the end, and Exbury Gardens (20 minutes), an exquisite 200-acre woodland that you can take in on foot or from a nifty narrow-gauge railway.
