Half a mile from the small village of Broughton Mills and two miles from the market town of Broughton-in-Furness, this quiet Lake District farm has a small selection of spacious pitches for families and couples looking to sleep under canvas in the gorgeous Lickle Valley. Set in the south of the Lake District and 20 minutes’ from the coast, Lane End Farm has simple amenities including portable toilets and an honesty shop where you can pick up logs and fresh eggs. Other than that, you'll pretty much be left to your own devices here. This site makes an excellent base for many a day trip in the national park, whether you have your eye on watersports at Coniston Water (20 minutes' drive) or conquering the lofty heights of Scafell Pike (an hour). If you haven't yet decided on your itinerary, perhaps this spot's fantastic far-reaching views will help you with some inspiration: the views over the fells just seem to go on and on, with several footpaths directly accessible from the farm for off-road rambles. This quiet part of the Lake District is also a wildlife haven: sit quietly in the field and you'll likely be treated to the sight of buzzards flying overhead; if they fail to make an appearance, there are always the cows and sheep grazing in the neighbouring fields. After a meal out or drink? This site is within roughly a quarter of an hour's walk of The Blacksmith's Arms, rated by the farm's owners as one of the best in the area.

喜欢 Such a beautiful location with stunning views. Perfect for a quiet getaway- fire pit included and can purchase logs from the little farm up the road. 15 mins drive from coniston and plenty of walking options. Thoroughly enjoyed my experience

喜欢 Amazing views and a real back-to-nature experience in a peaceful, remote part of the Lake District. The site has clean pod toilets and access to hot showers, which was a big plus. It’s about a 20-minute drive to both the beach and Coniston, making it a great base for exploring. Perfect place to disconnect and enjoy full connection with nature.

喜欢 The views were stunning, such a peaceful location. We even had a night with the whole field to ourselves. Lovely pub a 10 minute walk away. Good facilities, including a cute shower. Fire pits provided and wood available to buy. We had a great time.
