Seatoller Farm

喜欢 We went to Climb Scaffel (Due to heat we had to cancel the climb).
- The location to the Mountain Range for Scaffel Pike was really nice, it was further away but quieter, picturesque and one with nature.
- The facilities, Toilets, public wash sinks were incredibly clean , well looked after and seemed to be monitored daily. (these are open 24/7)
- Theirs a variety of different pitches in the lower fields, away from the main entrance, some towards the river or even several spaces for Vans.
- Their are showers, but not onsite. These are about a 5minute walk. The hosts(I believe Dan and Ruby) are incredibly useful, communication is very well.

A Bonus is that most of the pitches seem to be covered by the Trees/shade.

不喜欢 The only disadvatnage is that our Pitch (1+2) were incredibly hard to peg the tends down into the ground.

We're all experienced at camping, but some of the tent pegs would even dent the ground. (It is worth noting we arrived late).

喜欢 Location, clean and loved all the animals , eggs and marmalade were wonderful , owner very helpful, definitely be aware this is a a working farm so expect noise, it didn’t bother us

不喜欢 Nothing l can think of

喜欢 Really well organised site, I like having a designated pitch so not too close, shower was hot, pizza was delicious, loads of hikes from the site and buses to Keswick.

不喜欢 There were a loud group playing music and dominating a bit, to be fair they didn’t really bother me and not the owners fault but it detracted a bit from the nice calm feel.

喜欢 That there was no signal so we could switch off. The access to hikes from the campsite. The local pub has delicious food after a long day hiking!

喜欢 Location is very good.

不喜欢 The place was a free-for-all no clear pitches for the vans, we paid for van with awning didn't expect to be on a slope

喜欢 The location was perfect for where we wanted to visit - Honister Slate Mine, Crummock Water and Keswick.
The toilets were basic but did the job as did the washing facilities.
The site was relatively quiet but I suppose this will change in the school holidays.
I liked how Daniel came around twice per day to check on things. We did have to point out broken glass and as we had two dogs, we picked it up but he said he would be back the next day to check the whole area.

不喜欢 The broken glass but that is the responsibility of those people staying there. Can't understand why the showers are located near the farm and not on the site itself. Would make it a much better place to stay if they were located on the actual camp site.

喜欢 The two toilets for ladies were clean.
Would have enjoyed this campsite about 40 years ago, when I was a fit, young and lived in an urban area.

不喜欢 Difficult to find a level and non boggy pitch for campervan.
Only one toilet for men, which lead to a queue in the morning...(which may lead men to have a "wild wee" instead, which I feel is not hygienic on a campsite!)
No hot water for washing up.
Had not realized showers were off site - concerned about walking along the lane then main road, in twilight / dark. No pavement in lane. Small verge on main road.
Received e-mail information details regarding shower location after we had left home. Would have been nice to have received it at time of booking.
