喜欢 Decent size level pitches beside the lake. Clean facilities and friendly staff.

Sadly had to leave early so didn't explore as much as we wanted

喜欢 Friendly and welcoming staff, great knowledge of the area. The pitch was spacious, hard standing EHU, which backed onto the lake so great views. Toilets, showers and washing up area clean, with plenty of hot water. The showers are included on the cost and hairdryers are also provided. There is a washing machine and dryer on site.
Dark skies a d quiet at night.
A variety of walks directly from the campsite. 2 for 1 entry to Castle Howard included with our booking, which we took of advantage of, we also had a lovely lunch in the courtyard cafe which was delicious.
Will definitely return.

喜欢 Good sized pitches, set in a lovely area. Toilets and shower facilities very clean. Staff in reception/shop were friendly and helpful.
Fantastic walks in the area, with a great visit to Castle Howard.

喜欢 The site as whole is excellent with clean and warm facilities. Grass field was well maintained. The site is a dark sky area and with clear skies offers fantastic views of the universe.
Staff were friendly and helpful.

喜欢 The facilities and surrounding countryside was very pretty.

不喜欢 There was no WiFi and barely any phone signal hence no internet and no telly. That said we enjoyed the R&R.

来自经理: Thanks for reviewing Lakeside Christine. Our location can be very peaceful and relaxing especially for those who want to escape and be 'off grid' for a while. (Oh for the good old days! :)) You have hit upon our 'marmite' issue; our FAQ's do state there is no wifi at Lakeside however, for those that need a daily connection, there is free wi-fi in the grounds of Castle Howard, just a mile away.

喜欢 Lovely site, well maintained, staff very helpful, good toilet/shower block, excellent positioning of site

不喜欢 The water temperature of the showers/taps took a long time to warm up - my first shower was cold, until I realised that due to the low numbers on site it was just taking a long time to come through.

As you discovered, when the water has been sitting on a cold night, it can take some time for the hot water to come through the pipes from the boiler; this can take early risers by surprise, however once our team arrive at 9.00 a.m. they will go and check that the water is running hot. We hope to see you again.

喜欢 Lovely woodland site with some ancient trees. Unique location being so close to Castle Howard. We walked to the courtyard cafe it took about 20 -30 minutes on a path that was set back from the road. All amenities that you would expect on site, friendly staff and a really cute little shop. Had a lovely autumnal break would recommend
