Thornton Hall Country Park

喜欢 The place was lovely. It was very clean, it had maintenance on the site all the time. All the staff were lovely and helpful. Was a lot of open space for the kids to play. The farm on site was lovely and plenty to do for all my boys ages 2,6 and 13. The food was also lovely in the play area. Would definitely return.

不喜欢 My only down side was the price of the farm and play area. As it is literally where you camp and when you have a very challenging 6 year old that wants to go play in the play area and on the outdoor park all the time it’s hard to explain that yes the park is right there but you have to pay for the farm to go play on it. We did pay twice to go on the farm but once we went back to the tent after the farm closed my child was still wanting to play on the outdoor park which wasn’t accessible and had signs stating you’d be asked to leave if anyone was seen on it. I know it’s not a major issue at all, it just would be lovely if the outdoor park was accessible until later on and open especially on the light summer nights.

喜欢 Lovely and well maintained level pitches, great size with plenty of space. We travelled as a group and was allocated neighbouring pitches. Thouroughly enjoyed our stay

不喜欢 Not a lot to dislike, if anything I’d say not quite enough facilities (toilets/showers)

不喜欢 Only 2 showers and 3 toilets for whole site. . Not an issue when we stayed as site very quiet. Can imagine it is an issue during the school holidays when camp is full.

不喜欢 No water by caravan had to go to tap to fill up. Thornton hall was very busy at the weekend and we were next to the road leading to playback cars coming and going until about 11.30 at night wouldn't go back

不喜欢 Facilities not the best, only 3 toilets and 2 showers for the entire campsite

Only a small outdoor, uncovered washing up area
We had no electricity for a couple of hours and nothing was communicated to us.
They say no noise after 8pm however they had an event on in the secret garden which was very loud until 11pm.

We appreciate your comments about the music - this was part of our special Dino Live event during half term and only takes place during the daytime, but we’ll definitely take your feedback on board regarding the volume.

In terms of the WiFi, the camping area has its own dedicated network, separate from the farm park. If it was the camping WiFi that didn’t reach your tent or wasn’t working properly, we’d be happy to look into it further – thank you for letting us know.

喜欢 The area is lovely and scenery from pitch was great.

On site farm great for the little ones, we did not visit as our children are a little older however, we did hear good reviews from fellow campers who had visited.

不喜欢 Advertised as no noise on site after 8pm, on a sunny evening I would never expect for this to be the case and I feel 10/11pm to be fair however one party playing music and being loud until well after midnight unchallenged spoilt the atmosphere.

We arrived back to our tent on day 2 to find a family had been allowed to pitch two full sized tents in the one pitch site and park their 2 cars either side leaving them incredibly close to our tent and practically driving over our guy ropes.

Both of which really did spoil our stay.

Add to that only 2 shower cubicles and 3 toilets to serve the whole camp and the washing up areas having no sort or roof/shelter left is very disappointed with our stay and we have no plans to ever return sadly.
