Thornton Hall Country Park

喜欢 Toilets and showers really clean.
Really welcoming warden and his lovely dog.
Loved how close it was to the farm but the animals didn’t make much noise that we could hear.
As it’s off the track it’s not overly busy
Views across the valley and surrounding area utterly gorgeous.

不喜欢 The rain but that’s nothing to do with the campsite.

喜欢 Lovely location, met with the beautiful sound of a Donkey calling out with excitement xx
Welcoming staff very pleasant and informative.
The camping was well set out with clean toilets and showers with a clean easily accessible elsan point area.
Very family and dog friendly site.
Would visit again.

喜欢 Very dog friendly. Staff were lovely. Great location. Showers were warm and there was never a queue! Toilets were always clean and still no queue. The farm itself I couldn't go into because they dont allow dogs (for the animals wellbeing) but my family said it was really fun. I went on a few walks around the area with the dogs, lots of lovely routes. Just be mindful that there is a busy main road separating the farm from the majority of walks, so if youre not comfortable walking along a main road for 5 mins with dogs, might be worth driving to a route

喜欢 This place is perfect for families. The beautiful view of the Yorkshire Dales is a huge bonus! For those with younger kids, there's a new, fun play area that opened a couple of years ago (need to purchase ticket) Just remember to check the schedule as it's not always open. If anyone need to go to the toliet at night, it is only one-minute walk to the shower and toliet, which is very convenient for those with children who need frequent bathroom breaks at night. The accommodation also has someone station there at night, very cosy, friendly, clean and peaceful ambient.

喜欢 Right next to Thorton Hall, for the kids.
Facilities were basic but fine for our needs.
Milkshake place down the road was great.
Close enough to pubs and shops

不喜欢 Pitches were quite tight and close together.

Not much to do on site for the kids and no shade from the sun. Could do with some shadey spots, trees, perhaps some play equipment.

Facilities needed a bit more maintenance/up keep (topping up soap, repair to loo roll dispenser etc), holes in ground on pitches.

Generally ok for a couple of nights away though

喜欢 The staff were very nice especially Paul the night warden.

不喜欢 Pitch 14 had 2 large gravel tracks that forced us to move the tent a lot further forward, the ground was very uneven. Only 3 toilets and 2 showers for a large site was obviously not even and over the weekend queues would form. Lots of noise after 8 and to be honest I think it’s too early. Kids and adults walking under are tent and kids just dumping bikes all over.

Regarding noise, bike storage, and children cutting through pitches, we’ll remind guests of our site rules to help everyone enjoy a more respectful and peaceful stay. We do also have the site warden to report any issues too, as well as an emergency contact number for any issues that you have during your stay.

喜欢 The area and the site was lovely and well kept.

不喜欢 Lack of toilet and shower facilities. Very limited for the amount of pitches.
Also had a very noisy camper in pitch 10. Singing and talking very loudly til 5am Saturday.
