Good times for all ages can be anticipated at Wenlock Edge Caravan and Camping near Wenlock Edge in Shropshire: if you want a peaceful and relaxed setting with stacks of space for the kids to let off steam, this family-friendly place will tick all your holiday boxes. The big draw here is the friendly vibe from amiable owners and seasoned campers Claire and Carol, who'll be seen on site keeping everything shipshape (and sorting out logs and kindling for your evening campfire). The modern facilities extend to showers and toilets with underfloor heating, hair dryers and heaters, as well as a laundry room. Other topping factors are the big and safe natural area for kids to run around in away from the main site, and the closeness of Withies to activities of all sorts, including hikes around the Shropshire Hills, industrious visits to Ironbridge and its museums, and mooching around Shrewsbury, under half an hour's drive away. Withies is set in six acres of grassy meadow on Wenlock Edge near the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It's a 10-minute walk to the historic market town of Much Wenlock and its visitor centre, traditional shops and a satisfying selection of pubs and restaurants.

喜欢 Lovely, quiet all grass site with EHU an option.
Easy to find and the gate codes were texted to us early on the day of our arrival.
A small kitchen is available with a kettle and microwave and fridge.
A laundry room was also present with a washer and (i think) a dryer. We didnt use these so cant comment.
The wc/shower facilities were spotless during our stay and had underfloor heating which was a wonderful luxury. We had no issues with the shower temps.
Great location if you like walking as there are plenty of footpaths close to the site and, even if you are only mildly active, the walk down the Jack Mytton Way into Much Wenlock (direct access from the site) is pretty easy.
The site does have a bit of a slope in most areas but nothing too taxing (we have a small caravan) and, for us, the mild gradient was a price well worth paying to avoid staying in a glorified carpark of hardstanding's and regimented plots.
If you want a nice quiet site with brilliant essential facilities you should check this out. If you want nightlife and a clubhouse its probably not for you.

喜欢 The showers and toilets were excellent, clean and modern. The location is ideal for a visit to Wenlock and Ironbridge. Tony the owner was very friendly and even gave us a lift into town as I have mobility issues. We will return

喜欢 Nice cozy campsite in a scenic location. Toilets were clean and modern. We particularly liked that there was a footpath to the local town Much Wenlock which was pretty and had some great dog-friendly pubs!

不喜欢 The campsite was on a slope, but this didn’t particularly affect our stay.

喜欢 Excellent facilities which were clean and modern, site security is very good gated with coded entry. Very helpful site management team, enjoyable stay.

不喜欢 Slightly sloping site so make sure you have leveling blocks with you.

喜欢 It is a great campsite, only a 15min walk to Much Wenlock. The owner is friendly and helpful. The toilet and shower block is modern and clean. A great place to stay

不喜欢 The only downside is that it is on a slope do you need to use blocks and its grass. However the owner told us he plans to put in level hardstanding pitches soon.

喜欢 Clean, quiet campsite. Handy provisions to buy like eggs and milk. Friendly welcome. Great for visiting Criccieth with it’s wonderful castle and beach.

喜欢 Arrived on site to be greeted by Tony. Tony was super helpful even though it was constantly raining.
Arranged a place to pitch our tent and also gave us the electrical hook up lead. Unfortunately we had forgotten the adaptor to 240v 3 pin. Tony offered to lend us one.
Showers and toilets were very clean.
Area was great for families but open enough if you wanted your own space.

不喜欢 Someone needs to build a pub closer it is about a 15 mins walk which if the sun is shining is fine, but this is Britain 🤣

Wenlock Edge Caravan and Camping is in prime position for Shropshire's country, town and historic attractions, from its setting near the Shropshire Hills and within walking distance of town. Much Wenlock is between Shrewsbury and Bridgnorth, with the Ironbridge Gorge and the town of Telford to the north-east. Within a few minutes' walk is the limestone escarpment of Wenlock Edge, a Site of Special Scientific Interest running for over 19 miles between Craven Arms and Much Wenlock. It includes the marked trail of the Shropshire Way, the bridle path of the Jack Mytton Way, and eccentric structures like the tower Flounder's Folly, which many walks around the area pass. The Ironbridge Gorge Museums should entice even the most reluctant of small Shropshire holidaymakers: this UNESCO World Heritage Site has 10 museums telling the tale of Britain's Industrial Revolution, including the Blists Hill Victorian Town and Enginuity, an interactive design and technology centre with shows and workshops. Also make time for a trip on the spectacular Severn Valley Railway, on its 16-mile route through the Severn valley and along the River Severn for much of the way. The track runs from Bridgnorth to Kidderminster; alight nearby at Ironbridge Level Crossing, or nine miles from Withie at Bridgnorth. County capital Shrewsbury is 13 miles away, and the market town of Ludlow within 23.
