Bunk up in a barn at Beltonville Farm for a brill time in the White Peak part of the Peak District – this site’s just a mile from the Monsal Trail and therefore splendidly placed for a strolling, cycling or horse-riding holiday in Derbyshire. When you’re not tottering along this disused railway line transformed into a pretty path, soak up the views over Miller’s Dale; the park is in an elevated position looking out across this Site of Special Scientific Interest’s rock-studded landscape. Chillout sessions are of course boosted by having nosh to chomp on, so drop by the farm shop on site before dusk to pick up bits and bobs such as local veg. The site also has its own café, the Cow Shed Café, which is open every day from 9am. Rather a meander followed by a meal out? Map your way to one of several local pubs within a three-mile radius instead for supper. This is a back to basics site but it's well maintained and stretches to such luxuries as toilets and coin-operated showers for guests’ use (the showers require £1 coins, so please bring them with you). There's also a washing-up area and facilities for people with disabilities. Wood can be purchased at the park for the firepit.

喜欢 Only had a few nights free to camp but I would have stayed a week. Really friendly staff, lovely location, the views are amazing the facilities were clean. The shop was well stocked with a lovely cafe and bar area, I will be going back 😊👍

不喜欢 Some might say, £1 for a 4 minute shower. But 4 mins is enough and they are nice showers

喜欢 Love the cowshed/bar area! Great food for after a long day, decent array of drinks too! Entertainment was brilliant!
We booked the same day as we arrived and were pleasantly surprised, I don’t think they promote their site as much as the should!
Every member of staff were amazing and helpful, we’re happy to go the extra mile and also kept smiling and laughing - despite extreme business!
Nice trails from the campsite.
Decent signal at the campsite too.
Would recommend!

不喜欢 -slightly expensive - compensated by the staff and great entertainment!
-grass quite long
-toilets on the field out of toilet paper until Sunday about midday
-sold out of a lot, although I do think they were busier than anticipated
-would have liked to have seen the cowshed open later than 5 on Sunday but do understand as staff were extremely busy throughout the weekend!

喜欢 Lovely for our first camping trip it couldn’t of been easier to check in , told us where the best views are and very helpful staff, great showers and toilet always clean cafe on site was amazing for a fry up in the mornings, on a good route to Monsal trail was really amazing

喜欢 Site was well situated, easy to find. Lots of space to porch up.

不喜欢 Facilities were not cleaned often enough, toilet floors were dirty, bins were overflowing and not enough paper towels. Toilets ran out of paper by Saturday midday. There had been some when arriving Friday but not enough. Disappointed with that.

不喜欢 Bins in toilets overflowing with sanitary stuff, they aren't regularly cleaned. Never known a campsite be this bad for facilities these days. Lack of toilet roll. Just disgusting facilities. Obviously the owners either have never been camping or hate campers

喜欢 The views are nice, and the onsite bar and cafe are a plus. Friendly staff.

不喜欢 Busy, and noisy. Toilets ands showers were filthy and unloved.

不喜欢 Only 2 suggestions: the shower rooms could do with a squidgy type device so we can clean up after ourselves after showering, there were muddy footprints in the showers. And secondly, the grass could do with cutting

喜欢 Beautiful position in the Peak District! Lovely farm shop and excellent bar with live music on Saturday night.

不喜欢 No toilet roll in any of the toilets (male or female) from Saturday evening until check out on Sunday.

Squidged between Bakewell and Buxton (15 minutes’ drive from either), Beltonville has a nifty location near two of Derbyshire’s most popular towns. Make a foray to the former for River Wye wanders, passing by the medieval arched stone bridge, and the latter to see around some stunning architecture. Highlights on the heritage trail around Buxton Spa include the Georgian-era crescent, the Roman baths and the cupola-topped Devonshire Dome; for older buildings, the village of Castleton (25 minutes), lying in the lee of Mam Tor, has the Norman ruins of Peveril Castle to peer at. This spot’s also the gateway to the Blue John caves, the only places on the planet where the semi-precious Blue John stone can be found. Cast your eye over the largest intact piece ever mined on display at Treak Cliff Cavern (25 minutes), which also has some rather sizable stalactites and stalagmites for geologist types to gaze lovingly upon. Those aiming to give their walking boots a good workout here have plenty of choice: it's well located not just for the Monsal Trail and Miller's Dale but also Chee Dale, Tideswell Dale and Winnats Pass.
