喜欢 The pitch we were in was good and private

不喜欢 Did not appear to have walks nearby, not much around, was charged more than price stated at shop. Did not appear to have booking.

Did you have a look in the tourist hut where there are maps of the surrounding areas and footpath walks where there is lots of different ideas, or speak to the wardens or shop to point you in the right direction of the walks?
We are a village so apart from the shop (onsite) and pub we are a village im afraid so there isnt much around but to some that is the appeal, our nearest local town is 6.5 miles away.
We do have hot and cold drinks and sandwhiches and pasties in the shop,
Sorry you were charged more at the shop I dont understand this were you overcharged? if so did you ask us in regards to this as mistakes can happen we are only human.
We do always have the bookings as it is on a computer system, sometimes things do need to be checked but the bookings are always there

喜欢 Open space
Quiet after curfew 22-30

不喜欢 Not enough space between electric hook up pitches
Not enough Wash basins in toilet block
Pitch up website states 2pm departure although on arrival site said we had to depart by 11am
Play area needed a tidy up
Shower button needed to stay on longer stop start hot flow
Whole site could have been cleaned up a bit

The space between electric pitches have been measured out and are run along with rules set out to campsites sorry you didnt feel that this was enough,

There is 2 toilet and shower blocks and we have not had any problems with the amount of wash basins, even during covid (when people washed their hands more)

In the booking confirmation email sent by Top End Farm 28th July at 10.14 we do state in the email that the departure time is by 11am on Saturdays, this would have given you 10 days to contact us before your arrival date to contact us regards to the departure time, so you were told before arrival we could have possibly adjusted this if you had contacted us in the 10 days prior to arrival

The shower button is set to a timer to stop water waste,

Sorry you did not enjoy your stay with us hopefully you can give us a try another time and see if we can improve for you

喜欢 Facilities good, toilets clean, large pitches

不喜欢 Rules re dogs on lead not inforced. We were told no bbq or fires on site as so hot and dry, also not enforced as people were using them

来自经理: Thank you for your review, dogs are kept on leads as much as possible, we do inforce this but when are wardens have a lot of jobs to do, they can not always be on each dog but do try as hard as they can, this is also told to every person on arrival and wrote on everyones pack (this takes a lot of time) the dog owner does have some responsibility for adhering to the rules and we also built a designated dog area so dogs have somewhere to run free. for some reason by building this some dog owners feel it is ok to let off the leads in other areas. Our wardens Graham and Mandy are very good at keeping this rule in place,
With regards to bbqs and fires we have only had one person that tried to start a disposable and didnt even happen my wardens were again on this and took the bbq away from the person, other than that people have only been using gas raised off the ground and electric as we have stated this is ok.
If you saw someone using a fire/bbq did you report this to our wardens for your safety and others ?

喜欢 Large site with village shop adjacent and plenty of clean toilets and showers. Very quiet countryside location, and the on site wardens do a good job. Wifi is good and the site .has passworded gate entry.

不喜欢 Trivial thing really, but put some WD40 on the playground swing hinges as they squeak and can be heard from afar!

喜欢 Loved that the site is secure, wardens patrolling to make sure rules are followed (during the day and quiet hours) lovely toilet/shower blocks. Good for kids with play area (even though mine are too old for this now)

不喜欢 Wi-Fi on our pitch was very poor, not that we needed it

Sorry the wifi wasnt great on your pitch we do try and get it in as many areas as possible but it does need to bounce off electric points so pitches without electric can be a little hit and miss

不喜欢 When we arrived, our booking hadn’t been processed, so we got put right next to the toilet block. As the only electrical pitch left. This is usually for long standing members. We barely slept all weekend due to the foot traffic and noise from visitors going to the toilet and tripping over our guide ropes and crunching on the gravel. To say we had literally been chucked in the middle of no where. It looks like the campsite had been over booked as others were in random places. They do not adhere to site rules and cars were coming in as late as 1am and noise/music until about that time too. It’s really disappointing as last year when we came it was lovely. Hand dryers from toilet block going off all night, these should be switched off and paper towels in replacement for the evening. I appreciate it was warm and dry weather, but they said they had emailed to say no bbq/or fire pit. Which we had not received. Kind of ruined our camping experience.

来自经理: When you arrived your booking had been processed, but our wardens didnt have your tags this is because I was still waiting for a response to the email that we had sent you as you wanted to put 2 units on one pitch which is not our policies you had booked for a campervan but wanted a campervan and a small tent I had replied to you on the 1st of July after you had again asked whether it was not possible as it was the same amount of people. This had given 30 days till your arrival with no response, so we had to wait to your arrival to see what you wanted to do in regards to your booking, hence there had been no tags wrote out for you on arrival. you had asked for a quiet spot which i had informed wasnt possible during summer holidays as we do get very busy, yes we would have been able to put you in a quieter place than where you were put which was off the hard standing area but we didnt know what units you were bringing. we were not overbooked, we were booked to capacity that weekend with electric including your electric pitches and were busy with non electrics but not overbooked by far.
We do not replace with paper towels as this is a waste of paper towels, we choose to have the hand dryers

We had also tried to phone the week of arrival and also emailed the week of arrival to say in regards to bbq/firepits - this is also all over our facebook and social media, and we have also taken off the use of firepits and bbqs from pitch up currently. We are trying to look after everyones safety not to ruin your camping experience

喜欢 it’s our second year returning to this site, everything’s great!

不喜欢 nth at all, just need to drive a bit if you want to go to supermarket, but they have a little lovely shop on site that you could sort out some supplies already

Thank you for using our on site shop as well, it is 6.5 miles to the nearest town sorry we try to have as much as we can here to save you driving if you dont need to but cant always stock everything but glad this isnt a dislke either just information for other travellers

喜欢 A very family friendly site. Very secure and very quiet after 22.30. The toilets were nice and clean with good size pitches

不喜欢 These are my comments to help improve the site. They are not really disliked as we had a very nice stay.

Not really enough toilets and showers for the size of the site. Had to wait to get a shower in the morning.
However, this would not put me off returning and shouldn't stop anyone else from trying the site
There was nothing between each pitch so it felt a bit open. Maybe a few hedges to separate pitched would be nice

Sometimes at peak times you do have to wait for a shower but currently there is no plans to open another block maybe in the future.
We havent done hedges to seperate pitches as we allow groups which would loose the feel of this, caravan and camping club sites do tend to do this,
Understand that this is just ideas from yourself though and glad it wouldnt stop you returning
