Lägg till din företagsinformationIf you're one to say 'yes please' to family-friendly breaks on the banks of the River Rhône, make tracks for Camping Bois et Toilés, a friendly holiday park half an hour's drive from Vienne and 45 minutes from Lyon.
The site is right on the border between the Drôme and Isère departments, with the equally lovely landscapes of Ardèche on hand a few hundred metres away across the river (accessible via a footbridge opposite the site). There are plenty of flat, cycle-friendly paths on both sides of the water – including direct access to the Viarhôna trail – so make sure to bring a bike along or hire one from reception when you arrive.
Kids are particularly well catered for at Camping Bois et Toilés: time will fly between trips to the bouncy castle, playground, table tennis table and seasonal kids' club. Before they know it it'll be time to rejoin the grownup members of their travel crew for a round of evening entertainment (in the summer months), tasty snack boards at the bar or chilled indoor times in the games room.
Other amenities that may catch your eye include a tennis court, fishing, wifi and a food shop where you can grab some snacks to see you through all the walks and bike rides you'll surely be lining up. That said, this site is also a 10-minute walk from Saint-Rambert-d'Albon station, so you could also let the train take the strain and be whisked away to Vienne, Lyon and beyond.

The local area has a lot of crowd-pleasing sights, with Safari de Peaugres zoo (20 minutes' drive) likely to be close to the top of many travellers' lists. It's also easy to envisage sporty outings, like driving up to Space Eaux Vives boat rental centre (20 minutes) and taking the family out for a peaceful paddle on the river (or weaving through the more high-adrenaline slalom course).
It won't take you long to get out on nature-themed days out either: park up in Malleval (25 minutes) and walk a few kilometres to see the local waterfall, or drive further into the Pilat Natural Regional Park and take the time to admire the larger-scale Saut du Gier (an hour).
When you're in the mood for something more urban you have three main options here: Vienne (30 minutes) for Roman architecture, Valence (40 minutes) for terrace aperitifs and South of France vibes or Lyon (45 minutes) for France's finest gastronomy. All three are also accessible by train.
