Making your way to Montauroux (10 minutes’ drive) is a must when staying at this site for the stunning views across the countryside and down to the coast. This hilltop town is also a pretty place to potter round – it’s made up typically Provencal houses. Eager to explore more of the same? Mosey over to the villages of Callian (15 minutes), Fayence (15 minutes) and Seillans (25 minutes) too. Also inland, albeit a little further away, is the Siagne gorge for hikes (25 minutes) on the edge of the Préalpes d'Azur Regional Natural Park; a bamboo garden also sits on the river with all sorts of different species of the fast-growing plant. Got the kids in tow? Aim for Okwide (10 minutes) and let the little travellers loose on the inflatables or take them for dips in the turquoise pools of the Pont des Tuves trekking area (half an hour). Dips are also to be had at beaches like Plage de la Raquette (half an hour) down by the coast.
