Looking out across the turquoise shores of Lake Saint-Cassien, and based on the border between the Alpes-Maritimes and the Var departments, Les Terres d'Hermès is a scenic site in a handy location for getting around the South of France’s pretty Pays de Fayence region.
This park’s snazzy and spacious safari tents are half an hour from the French Riviera for trips to swish seaside resorts like Cannes and each one is smartly set up with a kingsize bed, a sofa bed, a TV, a mini fridge, a coffee machine, a dry toilet and a private open-air shower. Also outdoors is a private area overlooking the lake and with direct access to the site’s beach.
Spread your towel out here or get on the water after a breakfast delivered to your safari tent: there are pedal boats for hire as well as ample other aquatic activities to choose from.
Kids keen on dry-land adventures? Take them to the on-site tree-climbing park with giant nets, laser games, an acrobatic course and miniature golf or set off on family-friendly nature walks such like to the edge of Siagne (45 minutes on foot) or around the clear blue pools of the Pont des Tuves (half an hour’s drive).
Flying to France for a stay at this site? The Nice Côte d'Azur Airport is 40 minutes’ drive. It’s also 10 minutes from the nearest town, Montauroux.

Local attractions
Making your way to Montauroux (10 minutes’ drive) is a must when staying at this site for the stunning views across the countryside and down to the coast. This hilltop town is also a pretty place to potter round – it’s made up typically Provencal houses.
Eager to explore more of the same? Mosey over to the villages of Callian (15 minutes), Fayence (15 minutes) and Seillans (25 minutes) too.
Also inland, albeit a little further away, is the Siagne gorge for hikes (25 minutes) on the edge of the Préalpes d'Azur Regional Natural Park; a bamboo garden also sits on the river with all sorts of different species of the fast-growing plant.
Got the kids in tow? Aim for Okwide (10 minutes) and let the little travellers loose on the inflatables or take them for dips in the turquoise pools of the Pont des Tuves trekking area (half an hour).
Dips are also to be had at beaches like Plage de la Raquette (half an hour) down by the coast.
