Claylands Caravan Park

Tyckte om Checked in by a lovely lady in reception - we were given instructions of where to go, what facilities we could use. We didn't use the electric hook up as we are self sufficient. We also didn't use the WIFI. We were in bay 6 right next to the pond. The site is so peaceful with plenty ducks to keep you entertained and if you are lucky the cows come to the gate for a scratch. We had food in the Stepping Stones Restaurant and had the rump steak......it was so good. The bar staff were lovely and very helpful. We sat in the conservatory for the meal and the views were beautiful. We spent one of the days fishing ( hubby's past time ) £6 per day to fish. The pond is well stocked and we got a few big ones. The site itself is clean, tidy and very quiet. We have booked again to come in Sept for a couple of nights.

Tyckte inte om There is no motorhome service point if you’re not geared up for a super pitch with waste pipe to connect to the grey waste drain then it’s all empty by bucket.

Tyckte om The actual site was immaculate, toilets/showers etc, peaceful place in the daytime, lovely to walk round too see the cows/sheep/ducks ,gorgeous views, restaurant/bar was brilliant too, great with water taps and bins for dog bags were handy. Staff friendly, Walk along the river wyre at the back of the campsite to and from the restaurant was lovely. A duck had laid an egg by our tent which we were fascinated with.

Tyckte inte om The train line /motorway noise was quite loud at night, we did get alot of disturbed sleep, also the electric pilelon above you could hear too, don't notice the noises in the daytime only at night, Pitches are on a slight slope and not so level in parts, grass was bare in some areas.

Tyckte om Had the pleasure of staying in Claylands and was blown away. The views and scenery were amazing. It was so quiet and relaxing, staff were very polite and proffessional at all times. Toilet and shower block were spotless. Had a meal in the bar and it was so tasty. Will definitely be going back

Tyckte om Lovelly clean site,nice bar and restaurant,good area for visiting blackpool,fleetwood etc.

Tyckte inte om Shower block too far away from touring site.noisy with trains running all night and ducks quacking from 4 am onwards.

Unfortunately we can do nothing about the trains as it is the main line between Scotland and London even if they are 2 fields away across the river. The distance from the tenting field to the shower block is approximately 200 yards but we appreciate it is not near the bottom of the park. The ducks do wake up as it gets light and will make their presence felt.
