If boating on The Broads has long been on your bucket list, take a look here: the dog-friendly Black Barn Farm is a peaceful place to pitch up two miles from the edge of the national park. Here, the adults-only pitches are in a 22-acre field in an established orchard and surrounded by woodlands, making for a rather chilled-out stay. This area is known as the big sky country, so splendid sunsets and lights in the trees create a pretty nice night-time vibe. You’ll be able to kick off the evening with a firepit or barbecue too, as both are permitted on site. A 15-minute drive from Norwich, this site is on the edge of Salhouse, a rural Broads village. So, bridleways and footpaths may be the first thing to capture your attention, as they lead the way to walking, wildlife spotting and canoe hire in the Salhouse Broad – or there's a place to launch your own canoe or paddleboard, two miles away from the site. Convenience is key at this site, starting with the toilets and showers inside the barn, all heated with auto light switches for that extra ease. The barn also has a small farm shop and a café that serves up sizeable breakfasts plus sandwiches and snacks. Nearby, a train station and bus stop are within walking distance with regular services to Norwich city centre or the coast. Foodie? The local food shop is a 20-minute walk away along a public footpath (or a five-minute car journey). For more specific bits, there’s a bigger supermarket 10 minutes’ drive away and beer aficionados will find a brewery and pub five minutes’ drive away too.

Tyckte om We were greeted upon arrival by the owner and his daughter who explained where we was to park choosing the pitch of our choice and also explained where the facilities were that we would need.
Toilet and shower facilities were very well maintained and cleaned throughout the day.
The site is situated with an excellent farm shop and cafe which are open everyday from 9am-3pm. We had a wonderful piece of cake in the afternoon and drinks and the following morning had their signature breakfast which was superb. All the mat you can purchase in the butchers on site.

The site is situated in Salhouse lovely walks around the fields on the footpath if you have dogs and just a 15 minute walk to the train station where you can get a train to either Norwich or Sheringham.

We would defintely stay again and would highly recommend.

Tyckte om Cafe,good breakfast,but there was no water when we ordered.That was rectified with a complimentary coffee and tea,once the situation was resolved.Decent sized pitch.

Tyckte inte om Unfortunately our second night was ruined bt the three small caravans that pitched up next to us,they obviously came as a group,and the noise they made at night went on till 1:30 in the morning.I did request politely that that quieten down twice,which was ignored.The arrogance of some people never ceases to amaze me.Just rude and loud.

Tyckte om Lovely restaurant/ cafe. Large pitch with water tap on some pitches at no extra cost. Great little market on site including butcher & gift shops. Bus stop very close to the site entrance. Staff in the cafe/restaurant very helpful when we asked about bus time tables they went out of there way to help.

Tyckte inte om Mixed use shower toilet block I didn't mind but my wife wasn't keen but they were kept clean and were modern. Other reviews disapproved of the small sinks in the toilets but I think they are to wash your hands in nothing more. My wife said the showers were powerful.

Tyckte om Water and power on very generous sized pitch. Showers and Loos were beautifully done and very clean! Farm shop and Cafe on site. Very quiet at night too! We enjoyed our stay

Tyckte inte om We have done this sort of holiday for many years. The main reason we would never go back and we are surprised no one else realised, complete misrepresentation of toilet/ shower block. Site adults only ,the penny dropped with my wife after having a shower late morning. The toilets are used by everyone ,shop, restaurant and independent shops there!!!
She had a feeling this was confirmed when she came out of shower to meet 3 children ,parents and another in the toilet obviously having their bowels open with the door open!
Do we need to say more ? Wasn't a cheap site and they lied ,very disappointing.
The showers were new but not cleaned ,the drainage whole was blocked so you would walk in on the last person waste water which had all the things you can imagine after a good wash.

Those of you who aren’t familiar with this cultural city will find there’s much to stick your nose into, from bargain hunting around the old market to a full-on shopping trip or a pitstop tour of the independent eateries and historic sites… the highlight reel includes the hilltop Norwich Castle and the 11th-century cathedral. Those of you who are keen to weave a bit of the seaside into your way will want to head on over to the sandy beach and dunes at Winterton beach (35 minutes) or onto Great Yarmouth (25 minutes).
