Settle yourselves down here, Shakespeare fans: Dodwell Park is just two miles from Shakespeare’s birthplace, Anne Hathaway’s cottage and all the bardly attractions of Stratford-upon-Avon. There’s peace, there’s quiet, there’s a countryside setting – and if all that still isn’t enough for a final attempt to get the kids (and dog) reading sonnets, you can culture-ise them by taking them along to nearby Warwick Castle for all sorts of horrible history. Sorted. Dodwell Park is a small family-run site where the amenities are kept to spotless standards, with free hot showers, dishwashing facilities and hairdryers to keep the barnet looking tiptop. A shop and off-licence is on site, and armfuls of leaflets are at the information stand with info on Stratford-upon-Avon and other local tourist attractions. Nearby are Cotswold villages with Shakespearely thatched inns, walks and cruises along the River Avon and the hills of the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Boating, fishing and old buildings are at Luddington village about three miles from Dodwell Park. Leaving the car behind to avoid hiking up car parking costs in Stratford? A regular bus service stops right outside the site.

En välplacerad camping, perfekt för besök till Stratford-upon-Avon med busshållplats precis utanför. Personalen hyllas som vänlig och hjälpsam. Great showers

Tyckte inte om We had pitch 18 which is about 20 metres from the shower block.
All three days here then we had our fellow holidaymakers strolling through the middle of our grass area to get to the facilities. Bit rude when we were eating alfresco.
Suggest anyone who likes their own space steer clear of pitch 18

Tyckte inte om Had planned to stay for the weekend. The owner took out money , but we soon discovered after the arrival of police , that the site had travellers in some pitches.
Whilst this is not the fault of the owner, we felt we should have been advised of the situation before taking our money.
We asked for a refund , after deciding to leave early as could not relax . Originally the owner suggested he would consider a refund as he was involved with a court order to remove the travellers. He abruptly advised they had left without further correspondence or a refund

VERY DISSATISFIED with the owners handling of the situation in relation to customer satisfaction

Från föreståndaren: We are happy to confirm that our unwelcome visitors were very promptly moved on by the police with the use of an eviction order. Everything was dealt with as quickly as possible and with minimum fuss. It's a shame for those who panicked and left early (hardly anybody fortunately), they missed out on a lovely weekend, we were full to the rafters with the beautiful weather!!

Visit was spoiled.

Tyckte inte om When we got back from town a car was blocking the access road to our pitch and would not move. Then we discovered that our hook up cable was missing. So we left to find alternative accommodation. Explains why the site was practically empty when so near to a very popular destination. A shame for the site. I won't say don't use this site but you should be aware which community you might be sharing it with. Another reviewer had a similar experience. Wish I had read that before booking.

Tyckte om Pitches were spacious, the place was quiet and peaceful. The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. Great sunset and night sky too, but I suppose this depends on the wether.

Tyckte om That there was a bus service outside, even thou they only run hourly

Tyckte inte om The pitches are on a slight slope, but they say they are flat. The shop only opens for one hour a day 8.30-9.30. Showers are free but could do with updating. There is a hair dryer to use but it blows out slower than the hand dryer. There are no plugs for you to use your own on which was annoying.
