At family-friendly site The Thames Head Inn, four miles from Cirencester market town in the Gloucestershire Cotswolds, you definitely won't want to miss the chance. Thames Head is well-placed for exploring the spectacular Cotswolds on foot or by bike – the start of the Thames Path, which follows the world-famous river for 184 miles from source to sea, is half a mile from the site, and there are loads of cycles tours and walking routes starting in Cirencester and Tetbury, both within 10 minutes’ drive of the site. If that's not your scene, kick back on the dog-friendly site in the shade of the trees, soaking in the scenic and peaceful Cotswolds countryside, or take a relaxed stroll through the fields with Rex. Worked up an appetite? The site is in the grounds of the Thames Head Inn bar-restaurant, where food is served well into the evening and the drinks keep flowing until closing (remember to book a table, as mealtimes can get very busy). If you fancy fending for yourself, pick up supplies in Cirencester or Kemble – a 20-minute walk away – and fire up the barbecue. For a change of scenery – and menus – there are plenty of restaurants within 10 minutes of Thames Head.

Tyckte om Great welcome and a very nice dinner to start our long weekend. There are some really nice walks in the area. Cycled to Cirencester using the back roads. Visited the Cotswold sculpture park which was a fun spot

Tyckte inte om There's only one shower/toilet cubicle which might limit some campus without facilities, but the rest of the site was well set out.

Tyckte om Excellent location and thoroughly enjoyed staying there for the third time. Site is well kept, decent size pitches with picnic benches situated in the centre. Pub was fantastic with great food and drinks. Staff were very friendly and welcoming.

Tyckte inte om No a problem for me but could imagine having 1 shower and toilet being a problem when the site is busy.

There are plenty of stately homes near The Thames Head Inn if you want to get a feel for the history of the area, with Newark Park, Sudeley Castle, Dyrham Park, Bowood House and Berkeley Castle all within 45 minutes’ drive of the site.
