If getting away from your everyday life is your top priority of late, you should very much like this peaceful site in the centre of the Cotswolds National Landscape. Created with families in mind, The Wildings Campsite is just the spot for some days away from home – especially if you're a fan of nature, as it's surrounded by the sloping countryside, scenic walking routes, country pubs and quiet farmland of the Cotswolds. It's just a 20-minute walk from the scenic village of Bourton-on-the-Water on the river Windrush, where there's so much to see, from a model village and motoring and toy museum to a maze and restaurants. Of course, you'll want to check out what's happening on site, too. If you're peckish or forgot to pack a few basic items, head along to the shop, which stocks crisps, snacks and other basics. For your caffeine fix, there's the on-site coffee shop; in high season, it's stocked with pastries from the local bakery (the recommendation is to eat those slowly, preferably with nowhere to be). There's also an on-site bar called The Watering Hole open on Saturdays from 3pm to 8pm, serving fresh coffee, soft drinks and delicious crafted (and seasonal) cocktails. The kids will have plenty of ways to keep busy at The Wildings Campsite, with opportunities for whizzing around the site to explore the grounds or sliding around at the play area. If you'd rather head indoors, the cook house has ample space for food prep (provisions can be picked up in Bourton-on-the-Water), plus board games and a collection of books. Heated toilets, hot showers and a handy communal kitchen and chillout zone are also on site.

Tyckte om Beautiful location and natural setting, no big campervans or caravans, cute shop, good toilets and showers and mini playgrounds to keep the kids entertained. Nice pizza van on a Tuesday. Bell tent was spacious and clean, decorated with nice touches like blankets, cushions and chairs and the beds were pretty comfy.

Tyckte inte om The kitchen area became very crowded with little room in the fridges and freezers and no plugs free (small things really!). There's a very slim check in window (3-5.30pm) and they sent us the wrong tent name so that was confusing and a bit annoying after a 5 hour journey, nobody onsite to help out apart from a couple of hours a day. Shop/bar have vague opening times which could be clearer - it shut early and the bar was only open one evening. We also didn't know we needed to bring full bedding so had to hire it there. I thought it was a bit overpriced for how they advertised the campsite.

Tyckte inte om Prijs-kwaliteitsverhouding is onvoldoende. Als je een glamping tent voor 5 personen boekt, zou je ook 5 zitplaatsen verwachten. Capaciteit sanitair en douches te laag voor het aantal gasten, dat zie en ruik je. Daarnaast was er geen wifi en kent gebied een beperkt mobiel netwerk. Terrein is erg rommelig.
Al met al voelt het alsof de prijs niet in verhouding staat tot wat je ervoor krijgt.

Från föreståndaren: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're sorry to hear that you didn't feel your stay offered good value for money, as we always aim to provide a memorable glamping experience.
Regarding the seating, our bell tents sleep up to five guests and are provided with six seats in total: two wicker chairs inside the tent and two two-person benches around the fire pit, so there is seating available for everyone.
We also understand that Wi-Fi can be important to some guests. We don't provide Wi-Fi on site, and this is clearly stated before booking as it's part of the off grid experience we offer rather than something we try to hide.
In terms of facilities, we have eight showers and twelve toilets located around the site. We're sorry if they didn't meet your expectations during your stay.
We're particularly sorry that you felt the site was untidy. Our team works incredibly hard every day to care for the grounds and create the best possible experience for our guests. This summer has been exceptionally dry, with very little rainfall for an extended period, and unfortunately the dust and the impact on our trees and willow are beyond our control. While the landscape may not have looked as lush as we'd like, we continue to work hard to keep the site welcoming and well maintained.
We genuinely appreciate your feedback and are sorry that your experience didn't match the one we strive to provide. We wish you all the best with your future travels.

Tyckte om Small site with individual private pitches. Lovely setting. Onsite bar was very welcome. Little play frame in the tent field was perfectly sized for my 17month old. With bigger play frame for older kids up by the shop. Would definitely go back.

The Coppice tomt för tält utan elektricitet på gräs (stor)

Tyckte om Perfect wholesome family camping site. Small and friendly. We stayed in pitch 25 in the coppice and the pitch was massive and had its own bench. I would recommend the coppice pitches as they are tucked away and offer more space and privacy.
Toliets were spotless and showers lovely and warm.
The park was small but my 6 year old son loved going up down the slide.
The farm shop was fab and the coffee was amazing! We will be back!

From the A429, turn southeast signposted Clapton Sherborne. Continue along Lankett's Lane until you reach the site on the right-hand side. If you reach the junction, you've gone too far. From the A40, turn north signposted Sherborne Clapton and stay on this road for a few miles. It's a bit wiggly, but don’t turn anywhere, and please drive carefully because there are often roe deer about. Keep driving until you reach a junction at the top of the hill and take a left. The site is at the next left.

There's plenty to do down the hill in Bourton-on-the-Water. You could visit The Model Village (five minutes' drive), a miniature replica of the traditional limestone village, and then walk next door to The Dragonfly Maze. There's so much variety, from the Birdland Park & Gardens (five minutes) with its twittering birds to the Cotswold Motoring Museum and Toy Collection's (five minutes) collection of vintage cars, motorbikes and toys from times gone by. Outside of Burton-on-the-Water, sample the local beers and ciders at Hawkstone Brewery (five minutes) or drive along to the popular Cotswold Farm Park (10 minutes' drive), home to 50 breeds of British farmyard animals, for a wildlife walk and the chance to meet piglets and donkeys. Seeing more animals is not at all hard around here, as a bit further away is the Cotswold Wildlife Park & Gardens (25 minutes), with a much higher animal count (260+ species, including giraffes). For crocs, check out Crocodiles of the World (25 minutes), and for birds of prey, flock to the Cotswold Falconry Centre (25 minutes). All Things Wild (35 minutes) has more animals, including lemurs, camels and colourful birds.
