Bell tent
Liked: Lovely little site, and the owners should be proud of what they have set up. A lot of love and hardworking has gone into it. Facilities were mostly clean, and as full as it was we never had an issue getting a shower when we needed to. Easy walk downhill into Bourton. Cookhouse is a great addition, not that we used it but saw others making use. Shop is lovey and well stocked. Nice touch was having a member of staff call/text to check if we had anything in the fridge before they emptied it as we stayed between a switchover of campers for the bank holiday weekend.
Disliked: The big hill walking back up to camp from Bourton. That's not the sites fault obviously but people with mobility issues but are able to walk should know the walk back up is a struggle. The bell tents are in need of a better clean before arrival, the doors were left open all night so the cast of a bugs life could congregate inside. But some had clearly been hanging dead a while. Nothing zipped bug doors, and a feather duster could fix. Lots of litter on a patch of common ground between the tents. This was fixed at some point before the weekend campers came in. And if anyone ends up in crab apple Bell tent then there is a boggy puddle under the floor between the door and central post. Weather can't be helped I get that. Bell tents could benefit a power wash on the outside as the outside dirt can be seen on the inside. Not all zips were working on the tent either which made light work for dog escape artists. The wooden table and log seats should be more central as they were commandeered by a big family taking up 4 tents. Floor squeegee cleaners would be handy in the showers so people could properly clean up after themselves rather than rinsing down the drain with the shower. And more hooks in the shower stalls as piling clothes and towels on the toilet seat is to me unhygienic.

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked: Loved the camping ground. It was great to have a car free zone and fab to have the tents around the edge of the field with a play area in the middle. The kids loved helping moving all the camping equipment from the car to the site in the wheelbarrows, which was duper helpful and the toilets and showers were close by for those middle of the night wake ups! And were lovely and clean with handsoap in everyone and clean handt towels. The kitchen was amazing!!!! Fab to be able to use a proper cooker and pop the things that really needed a fridge in a proper one! And sooo close to Bourton! Perfect location for exploring the Cotswolds!
Disliked: No area for slightly older children to run and have a kicks about. My 11 and 9 year old would have loved a little football pitch away from the tents where they could have a good kick!

Bell tent
Liked: Nice new toilets however didn't have running hot water
Nice new showers
Good covered area for washing up
Great kitchen/ cooking options for those who didn't want to cook by gas or fire
For these i gave the 2** out of 5
Disliked: Really disappointed with our stay. Unfortunately what we paid for what was in the pictures but thats was not what we got!
Sadly a list to mention:
* Paid for beds only to be told the bell tent doesn't come with any and the site blamed pitchup for miss advertising. They did then offer us "comfy self inflating mattresses" however wanted us to pay! As we were mis sold & had our confirmation we refused to pay and were given the very uncomfortable mattresses for free!
* don't be fooled by the pictures... you get nothing in the bell tent
* the site was poorly maintained, the pictures show a well kept site however the weeds & thistles were a metre tall all around the tents
* the nice looking woodchip communal area in the centre of the "village" once looked this neat however now the plastic lining they used now sticks through and looks awful plus the chipings are so thin that the plastic is very slippery underneath
*the wasps were ridiculous, we couldn't sit and eat any meal outside as they were rife- we did bring this to someones attention and they did bring a couple of wasps bags but unfortunately it was to little to late
*tents were meant to have chandeliers & fairy lights however one tent out of 3 we hired didn't
* bins overflowed with rubbish therefore made the wasps far worse
* no lighting between the bell tent village & toilets which is disappointing when you are paying so much for a roof over your head
Really disappointing considering the popular idealic area that its set it. For all the above this made our stay very expensive

Liked: We had a great stay at the Wildings campsite - the facilities were great and always so clean, and the location was perfect for the kind of weekend we wanted. From the campsite we had a nice walk into Bourton on the Water which is a lovely spot. I’d definitely recommend the Wildings campsite and I’d love to return for another stay - hopefully with less rain next time!

Not being able to use communal cooking/dining area due to large family/group commandeering the area most of the time.
