Clean toilets and showers. Pub nearby but didn’t frequent on this occasion.
Cabin clean and cosy. Nice private area at the side. Well insulated.
Quiet but then not busy.

Stayed in the cabin. Poorly equipped in terms of essentials like bags in the bin, kitchen roll and washing up liquid. No teaspoons.
This let the cabin down because it was lovely and wasn’t cheap at £100 per night.

Good location, easy access to canal walk.

Having read the reviews we decided to try the site however we regretted doing so. We did not receive a very warm welcome but were eventually allocated and taken to our pitch. The pitch (as it turned out) was next to a very large group booking that were extremely loud until late in the night- this was not managed by the site staff as no patrols were carried out. Children were playing football around the tents until after 10.30pm. The site rules are only displayed at reception and not given to guests, and the noise curfew time has been deleted.

As previously reported, the bathrooms are awful. Yes, the staff clean them, but with only 3 toilets and 2 showers for ladies and similar for men, the facilities are woefully inadequate for the number of people on such a busy site. They are far too heavily used for just a daily clean.

Whilst we did not visit the Stagger Inn, it is still part of the site and the noise from there travels across the site as does the noise from its customers returning to site. Again, not the fault of the staff, however the expected standards of behaviour are not passed on to guests on arrival by staff or enforced once on site.

Would not return, it felt like holiday park pretending to be a quiet haven which it certainly is not!!

Lovely campsite, clean facilities, welcoming, friendly staff. The pitch was flat and a good size. A nice walk down the canal to local pubs. We will definitely be returning.

Back from another amazing stay at Sunny Side that not even the weather could dampen! Neil and Lynn as always perfect hosts. We even got to meet Sharon the lovely owner on this second stay with them. We have already booked for another 4 nights next week. Great snack van on site, cracking bacon butties! There are clean, modern and lovely showers and toilets on camp. Next door is the Stagger Inn which opens on a Friday and Saturday for Bingo and karaoke. The pitches are a great size. We simply can not fault either the staff nor the site in anyway. Not so sure why some of the recent reviews have been left as this is just not our experience in anyway at all on any stay we have had. We even had Radio Stoke interview us whilst on camp to get our view of camping in the good ole British Weather. Another great stay whatever the weather. Spread the word on this hidden gem of a campsite! See you again soon..

Firstly, treat the below bad reviews with caution. I heard a very different story from campers who were there. I wasn't there so I can't comment further. On a separate note, I'd like to see a similar rating system applied to customers as well as owners. It would make campsites more pleasant for those of us who know how to behave properly.

Regarding Sunnyside, it was our first visit and won't be our last. Immaculately clean bathroom facilities. In fact, the cleanest we've ever been to.

The site managers were very friendly and worked very hard. They were friendly with the children too, including engaging in conversation with my son about his James Bond t-shirt and about his favourite football team.

The boat to Audlem was recommended by the site manager and the kids loved that. It's called the Audlem Lass. It's cheap and whatever you pay goes to the RNLI. It runs from Overwater Marina which is a short walk via a path from the campsite. The cafe at Overwater is really good too. Not the cheapest but worth it because you get decent food.

There is a pub in the area next to the campsite but we didn't go. I heard from another camper who has a seasonal pitch that it is a very family-friendly pub and they do things for the kids as well as having bingo and karaoke.
There is a food van but we only got chips from it and nothing else. Priced as I would have expected for the convenience of having the facility on the site.
Sunnyside had a lovely family feel to it and our boys loved the playground.
In short, we all had a good time and will definitely be back!

Everything about sunnyside is just perfect from the staff to the cleanliness of the shower block and loos. Keep up the good work Sharon your staff are a credit to you.

Exceptional site level pitches good fishing

Good site and facilities.

Could do with a sign on the road alerting that the entrance is just round the corner as so easy to go past.
