St Ives Bay Holiday Park

Gostou Lovely spacious pitches, decent toilets/showers/washing up facilities.
Gorgeous location with the beach and so close to shops, and Hayle and Camborne.
Kids enjoyed the entertainment, and the pool (be prepared to have to wait when it’s busy though! They’ll give you bands for the next session if it’s full)
Nice atmosphere on the site, and all quiet by about 10pm, so great with the kids

Não gostou The tent site has gravel paths throughout, which did spread over the pitches too, so make sure you clear this before you pitch your tent.
The bathroom blocks could have done with more frequent cleaning. Also, the showers were very very hot and couldn’t be adjusted. This wasn’t ideal when showering our young children. Had to fill cups of water and let them cool to rinse their hair etc.
We visited the Sands bistro for lunch one day and found the service really slow. 45 min wait for mains, and had to go and find someone to ask for the kids desserts to come out, and it was then another 20 mins or so. It wasn’t particularly busy at this time, and we had very hangry kids after swimming, so wasn’t ideal!
Also used the laundrette once, and accidentally put my token into a machine which was out of service, but wasn’t labelled as such. Reception did replace the token when I asked, but this was a small inconvenience.

Gostou Tolle Lage, gute Anbindung nach St. Ives

Não gostou Sehr große Ferienanlage mit ca. 10% Stellplätzen, 90 % Ferienhäuser, viel Programm für Kinder, Hallenbad. Viel zu teuer, wenn man das Programm nicht nutzt.

Gostou How close we're to the sea.
The toilet and shower block were fine and just a short walk from camping field

Gostou Lovely big pitches, clean toilets and showers, all.the staff are very helpful and friendly,the Sands Bistro has very reasonably priced good quality food and the closeness of the beautiful,sandy, dog friendly beach through the sand dunes is brilliant. Sunsets are spectacular.
A beautiful relaxed site to unwind and recharge our batteries.
Highly recommend this beautiful site, we will be back.

Não gostou Wifi very poor on pitches but works in Sands Bistro and dynamite club . Not a big deal, wifi is quite poor all over Cornwall.
Can manage without WiFi for a week when the location is so fantastic.

Gostou Definitely a great location — a three‑mile stretch of sandy beach ⛱️ and just 15 minutes from St Ives.
It’s a great spot for families with kids, with all the usual campsite facilities and amenities.

Não gostou The site itself is quite large, and unless you’re lucky you’ll end up having to drive to the car park every time you want to go to the beach, otherwise the walk is a long, hilly one. The pitch wasn’t pre‑assigned, and on arrival we were simply told to choose any spot in one of the two electric‑hookup areas. That meant driving around to find a free one, and of course all the best locations had already been taken.

Gostou Nothing not friendly at all at reception even Secuirty were not helpful!

Não gostou The people throwing stones and kicking balls by your motorhome. The Pitch next door had music playing extremely loud with no consideration to others.

When booking in we asked about disabled facilities as we needed this and was told bluntly they do not have such facilities. Upon checking the shower block on the other touring section after we had pitched up this turned out to be inaccurate the other section had this facility for wheel chairs despite being told otherwise . Not accommodating what so ever.

We got told that the pitch’s are free for all (poor practice for a campsite) even though they had been told there was accessibility requirements on the onset when booking to be close as possible to the toilet and shower facilities.

Was that bad we drove off the next day and found a better campsite which had friendly staff and better facilities for accessibility requirements.

Gostou Big pitches. Close to the beach. Stunning views.

Não gostou Toilet and showers are outdated. Toilet got flooded on our last night being there. Showers would be very cold and slow. Only 3 showers for men and 3 showers for women, to cover 40plus pitches, there was always a line to use the showers.
Food at the restrant was very expencive.
We had breakfast at the restrant and the food was cold.
