Gostou The lady who worked at the campsite was fantastic even managed to provide me with some extra cutlery which I was grateful for and the toilet toilets are clean.

Não gostou It’s a shame you’re not able to actually go down to the lake. I know that you can’t swim in it, but it’s not even be able to go down to the lake was a little disappointing.

Regarding access to the lake, we completely understand your disappointment. We want to clarify for future guests that the lake shoreline to which you refer sits entirely on a private neighbouring field that does not belong to our campsite. Because it is private property, we unfortunately do not have permission to allow guests down to the water's edge. We appreciate your feedback and hope to welcome you back again in the future 😊

Gostou So spacious - loved that you could pitch anywhere. Clean facilities under cover in the barn. Absolutely stunning views. A beautiful 20 minute drive to Keswick.

Gostou Lovely site at the foot of a number of Wainwright walks. We camped in our Peugeot Boxer van and access was a little tricky through a narrow opening in the hedge. There is better access at the top of the field but then there is a slope. Porta loos are also at the top end of the field but we didn’t use them. Lots of people in tents and tranquility depends on your neighbours/ direction of the wind if they are burning firewood.

Just to clarify for future guests our main access point is actually located at the top of the field. The gateway through the hedge is kept as an alternative exit option if the weather turns wet.
As we are an open site the atmosphere can naturally shift with the wind and fellow campers, but we always hope our guests remain considerate of their neighbours, and being nestled in the hills also means the phone signal can be a little patchy, but we hope it all adds to a peaceful escape!
It was lovely to meet you and we hope to welcome you back again next time you hit the trails.

Gostou Not too busy, in a GORGEOUS little spot out of the hectic areas but close enough to easily get to loads of nice walks etc. we loved the view of the lake and hills around. Owners were super friendly, we liked that we got a little leaflet with suggested walks and info. The toilets are basic but as clean as you can expect a porta loo to be. It's also very convenient to be able to book a one or two night stay, Which seems a bit of a rarity. We'll definitely be back!

As highlighted in our listing descriptions prior to booking, we are a rustic, back to basics site and explicitly state that we provide porta loos and do not have shower facilities or mains drinking water. However we always personally check that our guests have enough drinking water and provide it free of charge if needed. We also have firewood available on-site for our campers.
Our toilets are also serviced and cleaned regularly, we do understand that the outdoor elements can affect them especially in hot weather, and we always monitor them closely to maintain standards.
We always encourage guests to speak to us directly during their stay if they ever need anything, and we always do our absolute best to help our guests - including trying to source cooking pans when they have been left at home - but as a back to basics camp site this is not always possible.
Because you chose to extend your stay and paid to spend an extra night with us, we had hoped you were enjoying your stay, but we appreciate your feedback.

Gostou Perfect pitch, fantastic views and so peaceful apart from the lambs and birds ! Great walks across the fells on your doorstep, toilets in barn clean and host checked on us both nights to ensure okay

Gostou The hosts were fantastic, we came in a big group of 16 and we had near enough the whole field to ourselves. Fire pits for hire, logs for sale, beautiful scenery, and within 20 minutes walk you have a fantastic climb leading to a spectacular view. Lidl was 20 mins away which was far enough to be away from civilisation but convenient enough to be able to do a few trips.

Não gostou I personally didn't dislike anything, if you’re expecting facilities you’ll be disappointed. If you want an experience as close to wild camping this is the right place. Simple and easy.
