Lazonby Campsite

Gostou The gentleman (volunteer) who came around and checked the campsite (sometimes on a bike) was such a lovely man. Taking time to speak to everyone in each visit and make sure we were ok.
Campsite was as described.
Booked here as it was close to River Lune for our paddle boards.
Pitch was big enough for what we needed.
Walking distance to a pub and convenience store.
Option to book and pay to use a pool. We didn’t as we had our dog with us and I didn’t want to leave him alone.
Only wouldn’t stay again as wasn’t suitable for what we ideally need for paddle boards.

Não gostou Access to the River was not as easy as I thought it would be from the site. Manageable though.
There is a community park next to the site which anyone can visit. On our first night a group of people had to be moved on by another camper for being extremely loud at around 1am waking most the site up. No issues on the second bight so hopefully not a regular occurrence.
It could get really busy when wanting to use the shower facilities due to sharing with people there to swim.
Couldn’t get any signal on O2 or Three.
Toilet/ shower facilities could be cleaner. A mop is pushed around by a volunteer and appreciate the floors get muddy from footfall but some floor areas in the loo/shower cubicles would benefit from a deeper clean.

Gostou Really compact little site, very family friendly. Next to a fabulous park and the community swimming pool. Facilities shared with the swimming pool and pot wash and showers lovely and hot.

Não gostou The site must get quite boggy when wet and they've put straw down to try and help it be less of a mud bath but it just ends up a mud bath with muddy straw mixed in or the dry straw ends up covering everything.

Gostou Great little campsite. Basic but everything you need. Great pool & play area for the children.
Beautiful spot by the River Eden.
The staff & lifeguards at the pool & shop were lovely too.

Não gostou If it were to rain heavy lots of vehicles would find it difficult to get back along the track easily. No mention of the very tight entrance when you book.

Gostou Lovely quite site by the river. Lovely friendly staff at the pool. Overall a lovely place to overnight.

Gostou There is easy access to the pool, clear information, and friendly and helpful volunteers.

Não gostou There was no camping equipment available at the kiosk, no Wi-Fi, and no reception to check-in.

Gostou The site was located in beautiful surroundings right by the river. The playground was great for kids and the outdoor pool next door was even better! It was also quiet in the evening which was very much appreciated. There are also some lovely walks right from the campsite along the river.

Não gostou Although the lido was great, the cost for a family of four was expensive. They should offer discounts for campers.

There was no phone signal or wifi at the site.
