Snowdonia National Park and spectacular Cardigan Bay… two utterly fab spots for a Welsh holiday. Add in luxury camping pods with TV and heating; proximity to the famed old town of Harlech, and options for days out sea fishing, ziplining, estuary boating and steam railway puffing… among more… and all your boxes will be ticked at Artro Lodges. Just inside Snowdonia National Park, Artro is a mile from its closest beach at Cardigan Bay, under 10 minutes' drive from the UNESCO-listed 13th-century Harlech Castle, and 25 minutes from Porthmadog and the start of the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railway… making room for all is much recommended on your holiday. All luxury pods at Artro come with a double bed and a sofa bed, a TV and a kitchen area (you'll need to bring bedding and pillows along if you're planning to use the sofa bed for sleeping). Llanbedr village, two minutes' walk away, has several pubs and a well-stocked convenience store; the nearest major supermarkets are in Porthmadog. If you're venturing out around coast and countryside by public transport, a bus stop is two minutes' walk from the site and a train station within 10. Artro Lodges operates as a 'peace and quiet' site: no noise after 11 pm, please.

Gostou Lovely pods, great to have a toilet and shower in the pod. Nice to have a TV,and all the luxuries of modern life.
Area was lovely. Village pubs within walking distance.

Não gostou Would have benefited from complimentary tea/coffee/sugar. As soon as we arrived we had to go back out to shops. Most places we stay in have this in pods so we didn't bring any with us.

Gostou Great place to stay on a nice quiet site. The pod came with a good selection of cleaning products and cutlery and crockery and a very comfortable bed.
The showers was small like the other reviews stated but had amazing water pressure so I could do what I needed to do.
I was using it as a base for walking some of the costal path and it was very handy for the train station if you don’t mind walking on the road as there’s mostly no pavement.

Não gostou Better instructions on how to get around the site the information book said to drive clockwise round the site but it didn’t seem like that’s what anyone else was doing.

Gostou Our second stay the Pod 1 sofa bed was much more comfortable then the Pod 2 sofa bed. The main double bed is very comfortable, showers are warm with good pressure. The pod is very well stocked with all essentials and very clean.

Não gostou The route in has been changed since last time we stayed so the main entrance route now runs past the rear of the pods so there is less space then before for ball games and it does not feel as private.
It would be helpful to have some more hooks and a shelf and while there is so much provided (which is wonderful) the radio etc is beautifully presented on the table which means you have to find it a new place for these items when you want to eat. When staying with two young children you need all four seats so it is a constant jigsaw moving the big hover, dust pan and brush etc which are all around the back of the table.

Thanks for the comments in response to some /we haven’t increased our prices for over 6 years
If we didn’t include a hoover and brush I’m sure guests would say it’s needed ,it’s not really possible to put shelves in a curved pod where guests wouldn’t hit there heads as there is only so much space
Regards to space for ball games we have nearly half a football field available which I will try to get a photo updated for reference

Gostou Lovely and quiet site, Pod had everything needed and was extremely clean.
Probably the most comfortable bed we have ever had in a pod, slept like a log.
Close to everything we need and enjoy when visiting North Wales.

Gostou Very clean and well set up. We arrived late so it had dropped dark. The lights were on to welcome us to our home for the weekend. Bed linen and towels provided. Effective heating. Pub over the road with great food. This is the second time we have stopped and can't wait to return.

Não gostou The shower is tiny so it could do with a small shelf above the shower head. It's quite hard to bend down to pick bottles up.

Gostou Location is stunning, pod is well equipped with everything we needed for our 3 night stay. Very cosy and comfortable. There are 3 pubs within short walking distance all serving lovely food. Local well stocked shop and cafe. Shell island within close proximity and also several beautiful beaches. Picturesque waterfalls short drive away. Owners lovely, we look forward to our next visit.

Gostou The check-in time was 2:30 PM, we received a confirmation SMS from the host at around 10:30 AM on the day of arrival letting us know the pod was ready.

Upon arrival, we found the pod very neat, clean, and well-organized, we loved it instantly. It was well-equipped with almost everything we needed, including a comfortable bed with duvet and pillows, a sofa, a cute mini dining table with plates, bowls, glasses, and cutlery, an outdoor table and chairs, an induction hob, a fridge, an oven, a toaster, a TV, a radio, a spotless bathroom with shower facilities, and extra towels.

The contactless check-in and check-out process was very simple and convenient. The location was also excellent, with most attractions nearby.

We stayed here for 2 nights (pod 1) and had a wonderful experience. We would love to come back again in the future.

Artro Lodges is between the Rhinog mountains and Cardigan Bay, with weeks' worth of stuff to see and do for active and sightseeing days. Take a trip to Blaenau Ffestiniog for both: this is where the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railway ends up at on its 13-mile puff from Porthmadog and is now also the setting of mountain bike trails, treetop adventuring, underground zipwiring and the spectacular Llechwedd slate caverns. Meandering towards the seaside (very easy to do from around here), combine sands and castle with a day at Harlech, the seaside town on Tremadog Bay with medieval Harlech Castle. As you'll doubtless already know, the castle was the site of the longest siege in British history (during the Wars of the Roses, but you doubtless know that too); take the floating bridge over to its cliffside setting to learn all about it in the swish visitor centre. For another seaside day, drive for 10 minutes (or take the train for 25) to Barmouth, for walks along the promenade and huge beach, or bike rides along the nine and a half-mile Mawddach Trail along the Mawddach estuary. If you're up for stretching your legs further, there's a cracking walk to Cregennen Lakes from Barmouth – with waterfall and mountain views along the way.
