Anglers, hikers, pub goers and horse riders… settle serenely down at this site for all of what you seek, in a peaceful position in the Powys countryside. Spring Rock Holidays is set near the Llandegley Rocks, with several public rights of way starting right from it including a spectacular waterfall walk and forest hikes. It has its own pleasure fishery for anglers of all abilities, made up of a 15-foot lake with mirror, common, ghost and koi carp up to 25lbs; river fishing on the Ithon and fly fishing are both available nearby too. Several sports and leisure centres with swimming pools are in in the area too, along with a riding centre and pony trekking, 4x4 drives and kayaking along the Wye. And whatever flavour of break you go for, you'll likely like a stroll to the Severn Arms within walking distance of the site, which serves real ales, pub grub and takeaway (please note there's a short roadside section on the walk to the pub). Spring Rock has a toilet and shower block, a separate washing up area and a chemical disposal point.

  • Only a limited number of anglers is allowed to fish at any one time. Please use the 'special requests' box to express your interest (unfortunately, requests cannot be guaranteed). Day tickets are only available for the pleasure lake; there is no day ticket access to the specimen carp lake at any time. Anyone wishing to fish the carp specimen lake must have appropriate carp fishing equipment including large 42” landing net, unhooking mat, carp care medikit and rod licence. No alarms allowed. Those without the correct equipment will be refused access. Please be aware that the fishery can close at any time during spawning.

Gostou This is a really lovely, small site, next to two fishing lakes. The area is maintained very well and is noticeably clean and tidy. The toilet facilities are new and work well. The owner is very helpful and welcoming and clearly takes pride in the site. It is surrounded by lovely countryside and is handily placed just off the A44. We took our campervan and also rented a glamping hut for our son - it was perfectly comfortable, clean, and equipped with a couple’s bed, TV, microwave, and some cutlery and crockery.

Não gostou It would have been nice if the showers had a flat surface to place your shampoo and soap, and the hardstanding would look better if it was divided by some planting.

Gostou A beautiful small site with stunning views. The site was quiet, clean and the toilet/shower block was immaculate and spotless. Andy was very helpful on arrival and was nice to meet, and gave me a choice of pitches. I hope to learn to fish in the near future and this place would be perfect. I hope to return soon.

Extremely clean, friendly manager. Good amenities.

Não gostou Could do with shelves or more hooks in shower, as no where to hank your clothes, but it would not stop me returning.

Gostou We stayed one night in a motorhome on the way back from the Welsh coast. The site is on a fishing lake set in lovely quiet and tranquil surroundings with views of the surrounding hills and has level hardstanding pitches and a few grass pitches too. There are EHU points, drinking water, washing up room and elsan point and the toilet block is spotlessly clean. WiFi is provided, phone signal was good and its dog friendly. It was very quiet overnight and we would stay again

Não gostou The access road is a single track lane, so it could be a challenge if you met something coming the other way as there are few passing points. We couldn't get a tv signal using our MH aerial, but as WiFi is available this wasn't a problem for us. It is a bit too far to walk to the pub in our opinion

Gostou When we arrived we were greeted by owner, he was extremely friendly and helpful, he who showed us to our pitch and have us all the information we needed to have a lovely stay. The site was clean and tidy with level pitches and the scenery was lovely. The facilities were immaculate and very modern, shower are charged at 20p per minute which was reasonable. The owner really cares, going above qnd beyond to ensure that each customer has a very peaceful and comfortable stay. I will definitely return in the future.

Gostou Very clean and comfortable, good access to showers and toilets, well-kept cabin, clean bedding, camping in a nice place, very friendly owner.

Não gostou There is a fairly busy road nearby, so unfortunately there are sounds of passing vehicles. Not a defect but my personal opinion, coin-operated showers, I understand why, unfortunately it is not the most convenient way from the user's perspective.

Atrações locais

After a leisurely time fishing on site, more of the same can be landed at the local pub's section of the Ithon river, via fly fishing at Rhayader or Llyngwyn, or in the Wye from the nearby town of Builth Wells. Other active options easily accessed from here are pony trekking and horse riding, 4x4 experiences, Wye Valley kayaking and hikes around the Elan Valley. Cyclists should also like the hundreds of bikes and loads of cycling bits at the National Cycle Museum in local town Llandrindod Wells. If you're up for events, the Royal Welsh Showground at Llanelwedd near Builth Wells hosts events throughout the year including the Royal Welsh Show in July, the Smallholders' Show in May, the Winter Fayre in December, dog and horse shows, and two antique fairs. You could also have a look at the red kite feeding station at Gigrin Farm, or take to the car for day trips: the Brecon Beacons, Aberystwyth and Hay-on-Wye are all within an hour.
