Southerness Holiday Park

Gostou Had amazing time with our kids very quiet at this time of year for tents, great service when I asked to move to a certain pitch as we wouldn't fit in between the tents that were there and they changed it no problem, especially as the rest of the tent pitches were empty.
Lovely walks only 15 minutes drive away

Não gostou No baby swings available for younger kids at all 3 parks on site are suitable for older children. Also would be better if certain parts of the indoor entertainment area where dog friendly.

Gostou A male worker noticed us arrive and directed us to our pitch. He gave us advice on which way to park to avoid the wind. He was very helpful. The pitch site was quiet with lots of spaces available so initially I thought if anyone comes after us theres plenty of space and that we would not be overcrowded.

Não gostou However after putting up our awning and setting down with a drink another campervan arrived. I thought surely not! Although the grass pitches were almost empty apart from a few parked around the perimeter of the site. They assigned the van the pitch right beside us. Honestly they could've given them a space anywhere, giving them and us space but no they put them right beside us. I know the site is for families but the children cried from the moment they arrived all evening and during the early hours of the morning. I'm sure they would've preferred to be further away from us too and it's definitely not their fault as childen will be children. I would've asked to be moved but we had battled with the wind and had only just settled. If we knew that our sleep would be broken then we would've asked to be moved. I had very fond childhood memories and was eager to show my husband but after this experience I'm not sure I will be able to convince him to visit again. I suppose the main dislike is that I felt it was very unnecessary to put them right beside us especially with lots of other pitches available. I never do a review like this so I hope it is more like feedback for the park and they consider how they can use the available space sensibly.

Gostou The man who oversees the camping and touring section was very nice and helpful and allowed use to cover more than one pitch as the allocated pitches are to small.

Não gostou The pitches are to small and to close together even a family tent without a car would struggle to use a single pitch

Gostou Great location (as we were on SWC 300 stayed one night only). Loved access to the beach. Showers and toilets excellent. Site was very quiet but it was very early in the season.

Não gostou Pitches a bit close together and on the small side.
