Set on a large grassy meadow, this friendly site in Wiltshire is conveniently located for Salisbury, Stonehenge, the New Forest and the Jurassic Coast. The impressive 123-metre spire of Salisbury Cathedral is visible from this quiet spot, as are acres of rolling green countryside and flocks of peaceful farm animals. Salisbury Campsite at Bake Farm is a place for back to basics camping: its simple facilities include chemical disposal, toilets, wash basins and a warm shower. Essentials sorted, it's time to relax: and that's perhaps best done in the large repurposed field shelter, where you can take a seat and gaze out over the stunning views (drink in hand optional, but recommended…). The site is conveniently set a few hundred yards back from the A354 road, making it a breeze to get into Salisbury city centre and make use of its public pool, railway station, arts centre, cafés and shops. Coombe Bissett, a mile in the other direction, also has a popular local pub. With plenty of space and Bake Farm's sheep for company, this outdoorsy spot is also a hotspot for walkers. Guests here have direct access to a good range of rights of way. Popular strolls in the area include the 25-mile-long Clarendon Way that runs from Salisbury to Winchester, hiking up Harnham Hill and ambling around Salisbury's water meadows. Please note that Salisbury Campsite at Bake Farm is only suitable for guests aged five and over. Children are welcome, although the site is designed to be quiet and there are no play facilities or attractions for them.

Gostou Lovely and peaceful and loads of space and fantastic views across fields to Salisbury.
Also, a really relaxing atmosphere.

Just a one night stopover but easy to find, nice single field site.

Gostou Clean well run site. A fair distance by foot to Salisbury (45mins) but do-able and still a good location. Lots to do in the area.
The site is tranquil and quite basic but has all of the basic things you need. The only suggestion would be that the owners consider having a larger freezer and to allow people to put more than just ice packs in it. This has been quite useful at other sites we have visited.

Gostou Host was helpful and made us feel welcome.

Toilet and shower facilities were nice and clean and well maintained.

Charging points were helpful and QR codes were a nice touch as it gave information on local walks and places of interest.

Não gostou Only one minor downfall was only having one shower as this often meant lengthy waits in the morning.

would visit again but would not walk near the house where the dogs are

Gostou nice view, toilets and shower clean and functional, quiet while i was there, lady who owned it was friendly

Não gostou no shade, a few trees planted around the place would help.
I went with my dog who who doesn't like other dogs running at her barking. I only stayed 1 night but dogs from a property there ran out barking in her face. and another camper also let there dog run from half way across the site barking at her. These 2 incidents did mar the experience for me

Great little campsite, would definitely recommend.

Gostou A very relaxed check in as you can turn up and pitch where you like on arrival, as long as you've booked, and the friendly host comes and sees you when you are settled. A reasonably quiet location with clean but basic facilities. It is a good base for visiting local attractions, you can see the spire of Sailsbury Cathedral from the site. It was lovely to see Barn Swallows flying around the campsite and it was a relaxing place to sit during the day.

Não gostou There was some noise from the nearby road which was more noticeable at night but not too disturbing.

Gostou The campsite was in a great location with lovely walks to the town. Beautiful scenery and very peaceful. Host was polite and prompt to reply to questions asked.

Não gostou Only one shower. Became an issue when the site got busier

Gostou Loved it, so peaceful calm and beautiful views. The facilities are everything you need, with somewhere to charge ice packs and phones. Perfect spot for a couple of nights.

Gostou Great campsite, lots of space and you can pitch anywhere. Dogs are welcome which is a bonus!
Toilets are flushable and clean and the shower is hot. Both were cleaned daily when we stayed.
Lots of walks from the campsite and private maps are available (google maps) via a QR code.
USB charging points provided in the shared shelter and WiFi available.

Atrações locais

After exploring the historic buildings of Salisbury, head even further back in time at Stonehenge (20 minutes' drive), an iconic English Heritage-managed landmark a few miles north of the town. More ancient history is within your reach if you drive to Avebury (55 minutes), home to a spectacular stone circle and other Neolithic sites in the scenic countryside of north Wiltshire. To the south, there's the New Forest National Park (20 minutes), where cycling, walking, country pubs and semi-wild ponies, donkeys and pigs make for great family-friendly days out. Even more wild animals are on display at Longleat Safari Park (40 minutes), while for high-adrenaline tree-top adventures and forest segway escapades there's Go Ape in Moors Valley Country Park (30 minutes). If being so close to Salisbury has you in the mood for more urban days out, you might like to take the train (or drive) to Bath (roughly an hour), while for some sun and sand you could head south to the beaches, piers and classic seaside amusements on offer in Bournemouth (40 minutes).
