For somewhere to stop while wending your way westwards to the end of Cornwall, try Fox Farm Motorhome Park, a well-maintained, intimate site set in the grounds of a small farm a mile and a half from Penzance town centre. It won't take you long to get out and see the local wildlife here – this site is located on the edge of an area of outstanding natural beauty on the sparsely populated Penwith Peninsula. This Cornish spot has a very small number of secluded pitches, all of which are spacious and level. Amenities at this low-key spot include practical features like a water supply via a spring borehole, recycling points and chemical disposal facilities. There's also a small on-site farm shop where you can pick up fresh local fruit and vegetables. Well-behaved dogs are welcome but please keep them on leads, as this is a working farm. Open barbecues are allowed too, but the owners would appreciate it if quiet hours could be respected after 10pm. This site feels peaceful and out of the way but is easily accessible from the main road, which can get you down into Penzance with roughly a five-minute drive. There are several beaches here (including a fair number of dog-friendly options), as well as a railway station, bars, restaurants and supermarkets.

Gostou Absolutely wonderful little site. The owner was very warm and welcoming on arrival and very helpful with local advice for things we needed. The picth was nice and level and the planting between for privacy was a wonderful collection of native and exotic. Will definitely stay again

Gostou Such a nice site. Only stayed 1 night as sailing to scilly nx day. Clean facilities and lovely welcome from the owner even though we arrived after 9pm. Will defo stay longer nx time.

Gostou A well maintained spacious site in a lovely setting with a small lake. Sparkling clean facilities.

Não gostou The welcome was functional not at all cheery but perhaps we arrived at a bad moment.
The list of fines:
being charged another night if not displaying a piece of paper (why?)
£10 for burning the grass with a barbecue

Do gerente: Dear customer, we are pleased that you enjoyed our facilities but we feel that you have mixed us up with another campsite. We do not have a small lake or a lake of any description,we are always happy should our guests require wood or a barbecue for their enjoyment , all our pitches are hard standing without grass. We definitely would not fine anyone or fine a customer as described. Kind regards Laurence and Monika fox farm campsite.

Gostou Lovely site with good level pitches. Facilities were first-rate and spotlessly clean. A lot of thought had clearly been given to the showers, and plenty of space to keep your stuff dry, unlike some other sites with tiny cubicles. Lots of hot water, loo roll etc. Owner was friendly and all trackways and roads well-maintained. Very quiet and peaceful.

Very convenient for Penzance, especially for supermarkets for food and fuel. A pot was area would have been useful but this site caters really for motorhomes/campervans.

Gostou Good size level pitches and privacy generating foliage. Recently built toilet and showers inc a walk in one. Project for this year is a covered potwash area.
Water and electric on the pitch.
A great welcome from the owners with farm produce for sale.

Não gostou Interesting choice of greenery around pitches a bit unkempt but effectiroad outside very fast, be careful on exit.

Atrações locais

Drive 10 minutes down the road to Marazion to see the iconic St Michael's Mount and to explore two sandy beaches, or walk there from Penzance (two miles) along an almost entirely level traffic-free path. Other local outdoor attractions you won't want to miss include the Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens (10 minutes' drive), where modern art meets panoramas over the sea, and The Minack Theatre (25 minutes), an open-air events space with regular shows in a spectacular clifftop setting. Finding yourself in St Ives (20 minutes) is another popular option, as this artsy north coast town is home to a Tate art gallery, a pottery centre and the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden. For something a bit grittier (although without leaving behind the fantastic scenery), there's also the Geevor Tin Mine (20 minutes), where you can discover three centuries of Cornish industrial heritage. Hopping back over to the south coast, you're also within day-tripping distance of Falmouth and King Henry VIII's Pendennis Castle (50 minutes), while just driving west will take you straight to the Land's End Landmark Attraction (25 minutes) where you can look out over the Atlantic.
