Gostou Karen on reception was extremely helpful.
We canoed the river from Tonbridge to Maidstone, staying one night.
Very quiet overnight, with birdsong alarm clock in the morning. Lovely campsite.

Não gostou I will not be promoting this location as a fishing lake. It is essentially a small pond covered in green algae, making it unsuitable for fishing.

Due to the extremely hot summer there is more duckweed on the water then we would like, but lots of camper have had a lot of success fishing the lake in the last few weeks.

Gostou Great location, friendly and helpful staff, good onsite cafe and lots of toys left on field for children to play with

Não gostou It’s a shame you can only hire kayak etc for a day (rather than by hour) as we only wanted 30-60min, but paying a full day price didn’t work out good value.

Thank you for your feedback regarding the watersports hires. We started the season doing hourly slots, but found that the majority of people wanted the flexibility of hiring for the day so we changed it to make the experience more cost effective. If we have availability for equipment and it hasn't been booked out for the day we will always try and match your needs if we can.

This year we did not have facilities for campers to dispose of their rubbish, but we did make sure this was clear before booking.
We are pleased your found the staff friendly and helpful and that the toilets and showers were also good.

Gostou Nice facilities with close water and washing up facilities. Lovely river for paddle boarding and a big grassy space for kids to play in. Nice cafe on site that did good coffee and breakfast.

Não gostou Worth noting that if like us, you thought the images of pitches by the water were by the river, they are not. They are next to a pond. The Cafe also overlooks a grass field and the pond. The river is accessed through the gate in the car park and is not actually visible from the campsite.

There are limited spots for campervans which meant we were unable to camp as a group with campervans and tents together. Partly due to our late booking but I’m not sure it would be possible anyway as they did not allow vehicles on the field other than to unload.

Our campsite is situated around the fishing lake with the river Medway running directly behind us.
On this occasion we were unable to place you all together as you had booked individually and on separate areas of the campsite. Your tent bookings requested field pitches and the camper vans woodland. As we were fully booked the weekend you visited we were unable to move things around to get you all together. However, if you do choose to book again we have a lakeside motorhome pitch on the field or tent pitches in the woodland meaning you could all be close to each other in either setting.
We will pass on your positive comments to the cafe team too.

Gostou Nice and quiet pitch in the forest and near the River Medway. The site is close to a CoOp petrol stn and supermarket, pub and curry house in walking distance. the owner talked me through the procedures, gave me the codes and all was good.

Stayed here a couple of years ago. It’s still as beautiful as I remember. Did miss the little pop up bar though. We’ll be back next season :) only criticism I have is why did I have to book a motor home pitch to car camping? Others had their car parked next to their pitch on the field. Didn’t use electric as we have our own power system. Shouldn’t really have to pay more to sleep in my car

Your booking shows a grass field pitch, but from what I understand you then upgraded on arrival to the lakeside pitch giving you the decking area as well?

Gostou Easy to find. Close to a river. Easy to hire kayaks. Modern toilets. Close to a shop to buy any food. Nice cafe. Nice pond

Não gostou You can hear car noises from a motorway. The pitch I booked based on pictures provided was a complete disappointment. The pitch I thought I booked was taken by other people and mine was just a tent size spot by forest road with other tents right next to it and without any additional place for doing any camping things. But we were offers to move to the field - which we did.

We are a little confused about your comments regarding your woodland pitch. We have 6 woodland tent pitches that are all numbered. We do not allocate these in advance, but they are issued on a first come first served basis. We are therefore unsure how you felt that the pitch you booked was taken by other campers? If someone has a specific request like being close to the water we will try our best to accommodate, but we can not guarantee. From looking at your booking it seemed your only request was a pitch on your own which all of our woodland pitches are and marked out as such.

We will always try and accommodate as best we can and we are pleased you were happy with a move to a field pitch instead.

Gostou Lovely little campsite. Great cafe with fresh tasty breakfast. Staff friendly and helpful.

Não gostou Only 1 toilet and 1 shower for the whole campsite. As a group of 14 shower time was made difficult. However, kept clean.
