Howburn Farm Caravan Site

Gostou Rural location, friendly owners.

Não gostou The dog is nice but she kept coming over with no owner around and liked to jump up.

Lots of cars coming in and out over loud cattle grids.

Elsan point smelly and kept getting blocked up.

Tess our little puppy is a live wire but is never left to roam when we are off site, however its unfair to keep her chained up in her own surrounding we will be more vigilant to keep a closer eye on her.
The elsan point was emptied the day after your stay which was booked in prior to your stay.
We are completing work on the cattle grid to make it a smoother cross over, on going work to the site is being completed continuously as we are a new site.
As stated in our listing we are a working farm & agricultural business so we do get a high volume of traffic at times.
We are sorry we won't be welcoming you back but thank you for pointing out all the negatives of your stay so we can act on these.

Gostou Very secluded site surrounded by fantastic scenery with walks and cycling straight off the site. Great nearby pubs and eateries. Nice owners.

Will definitely return.

Gostou The area is beautiful with plenty of hikes nearby. The owner welcomed us and we had a small chat. There are bins in site, water and electricity, flat pitches with beautiful views, sheep walking around, very peaceful place. We spent 2 nights and it was quiet & nice stay. Thank you.

Gostou This is a lovely little site in an idyllic location with a fantastic view and a beautiful local area, stargazing at night was just amazing too.

Based in the middle of the commons this site is pure peace with very little traffic, very little noise and very few passers by. Just sheep and lovely views.Absolutely lovely.

Visits from resident dog Tess added to the enjoyment, our dogs loved saying hello and she's just a little sweetheart.

Site was gravel and grass, with large pitches, hookup, water on your pitch, and a chemical waste disposal point with refuse bins/recycling. The owners say hello on arrival, then leave you to it unless you need them which adds to the peace and quiet.

It's a lovely drive to the site, and the drive from A66 should be no problem for vans, motorhomes and towing vehicles. Be sure to take the scenic route, its really a lovely place to pull over and enjoy the scenery.

We recommend visiting oddfellows in caldbeck during your visit for food or a drink, short drive away, or walk if you feel like a longer stroll, but the food is very worth it.

We will absolutely be back to horburn farm. We loved every minute! Thank you for a lovely stay.

Gostou Beautiful, peaceful and a welcome last minute stop over on our long journey home. The owners were very accommodating despite the short notice, as were the sheep! 😊

Gostou What a wonderful location!! Easy access to Fells on the doorstep and lovely friendly owners to welcome you on site.

Use the location pin on Pitchup and you’ll get straight to the site - it wasn’t a challenge to find. Decent value as long as you don’t mind using your onboard facilities…

Não gostou Just be aware that there are sheep everywhere - so if you have a dog that’s ’sheep keen’ they’ll need to stay on a lead for their walks!

Gostou Small, tidy site, courteous greeting from owner, pitches were level, on the small side not a lot of privacy between each pitch, luckily we were the only ones on site. Water and electricity on each pitch, views of surrounding hills,, the best tv signal we have ever had, probably due to the the very visible tv mast on the hill.

Não gostou I was expecting the roads to be narrow and difficult but in fact they were ok for our motorhome. What we found challenging was the lack of signage, the site needs a sign and some additional signage on approach roads. The site is not listed on google maps so needed to rely on directions from booking confirmation. No phone signal

We take all feedback on board we are a relatively new site so are making improvements as we progress, trees are being planted between pitches to try and give each plot a little privacy, and we have put up our new sign that we were awaiting.
