Gostou Lovely campsite with great facilities. The surrounding area is truly beautiful.

Gostou The campsite itself was beautiful with the river running through it and some nice walks directly the site. There are some beautiful places to visit nearby. Our favourites were Honnister Pass, Cat Bells and Buttermere Lake.

Keswick itself is a short drive but has everything you need shop wise.

It’s worth noting that the campsite pizzas have moved to Friday nights and not Saturdays as advertised in the listing. Prices range from £9.50 - £13.50 depending on topping - well worth the price though, they tasted amazing!

Dan came around a few times while we were there and was very welcoming. The on site facilities were kept clean and tidy.

Lots of wildlife on site, red squirrels, hedgehogs, dragonflies etc.
Also worth noting there are sheep wandering around the campsite pitches freely. We liked them being there but some of the other campers dogs didn’t so much.

There is a lovely pub close to the campsite, it has a beautiful beer garden on the river and is dog friendly outside. Unfortunately the staff advised they don’t serve food to the beer garden and dogs are not welcome in the pub so sadly we didn’t get to try the pub grub but we enjoyed some blackberry ciders by the river instead.

Não gostou The showers are a short walk away (which I was aware of) but they weren’t the cleanest unfortunately and you do have to walk along a road for a short distance to access them. The water in the area was unexpectedly off due to an issue in the valley one night (out of their control accepted) but there wasn’t any communication of this until you tried to use the facilities. A little text or email to prewarn campers would have been helpful as there’s no shops to purchase water nearby.

The farms coffee and gift shop was advertised as being open Saturdays and Sundays - 10am to 4pm but it was closed when we tried to go on Sunday between 2:30 - 3pm.

This one isn’t a dislike as such but more of a point to note, there are not any local takeaways. Not the end of the world but after an 8 hour climb of Scafell Pike, the idea of a takeaway was in mind but sadly wasn’t possible.

Gostou Peaceful site - we camped under ancient oak trees above a lovely stream. Clean, perfectly maintained facilities. Amazing homemade pizza from the barn on Fridays. Minutes from a fantastic pub. Perfectly situated for walks into the high fells.

Gostou Nice, peaceful, great views, left alone, all facility’s worked as they should, bins provided.
Will be staying again.

Gostou Great site friendly hosts. Two days stay, saw lots of wildlife including an otter and red squirrel. Great scenery and great walking

Gostou Stunning location with beautiful pitches next to the river. Dan was helpful and friendly. Near a bus stop and lots of great walks.

Gostou Facilities were cleaned everynight, hot water to wash dishes with, toilets close by, showers although a walk away were very warm and plenty of space to change.
View was amazing :)

Gostou Really clean and picturesque area. Very quiet and away from busy roads. The toilets and washing up area were also very clean and well maintained. Loved the visits from the sheep aswell!!

Gostou Thoroughly enjoyed our camping trip. Facilities were excellent as were the hosts of the site. Shout out to Daniel who does regular checks to make sure everyone is safe and happy.
The pizza on Friday night was very good and the cafe very welcoming. Tip.. if your looking for quirky craft items like a beautifully made sheep or cow footstool, this is the place to buy one ( all have individualised names).perfect gift and I will certainly be returning to collect one.
Shower block is a short walk up by the farm, but very spacious and well set out. Water is “hot” and we showered at various times.
Overall this is a beautiful well looked after rustic site .
Literally opposite the farm is a fabulous pub “ Yew Tree”, this is one of the most accommodating pubs we have had the pleasure to eat and drink in.. another shout out to the staff who were should be highly valued, they make the place come alive.

Gostou The camping is beautiful, views are absolutely amazing, everything was spotless.
The small giftshop / coffee shop was nice too, we have also enjoyed the Friday pizza.
It was lovely to meet the family, so see Mabel catching the chickens and the little one playing with her parents and her older sister.
Decoration on the barn / coffee shop / barn is so beautiful
Fantastic service.
