Do gerente: Hi Karen, I'm sorry to hear you didn't make it to us. I myself had no missed calls and my partner did unfortunately miss it as she was cleaning the facilities and other campsite errands but did ring you back and no one answered. The address and instructions on how to find us are all pretty clear on our listing and so not quite sure what went wrong.

Gostou Lowfi site, beautiful sunset, quiet. Barn owl feeding. Woken by skylarks lifting off to sing. Loads of space. Walks on doorstep. Eggs from farm for sale and made best breakfast. Loo regularly serviced and checked. Most pitches taken when we were there but that is small part of huge field you are in and not crowded etc.

Não gostou Nothing much. Could consider solar light for loo (though it is lit at night). Could consider water tap somewhere.

Gostou Loved it, it feels like you’re in the middle of nowhere. Compost toilet is kept clean and works fine, could do with some better lights inside it though. We rode bikes through the forest fire roads, watched the sun setting and explored the Roman Road quite close to the site. Really nice quiet site with a few other people enjoying being in nature. We will be back.

Gostou The location is fantastic, right in the heart of Cropton Forest so if walking/mountain biking is your thing then you won't be disappointed. Or you could just relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. Probably the best pop up site we have stayed on. Lovely owners to boot!

Gostou The location, the simplicity, the quiet, the views. The couple who run this are a lovely young couple. They come round in the early evening to collect the fee and even sell eggs from their farm. The pitches are mown grass areas at the edge of a wild flower meadow, with beautiful views out over the moors. The spacing between the mown areas was very generous. We didn’t do any walking as we were there just to test the site and our new tent, but I know the area well and there are some great walks straight out of the campsite gate. This is a simple campsite, close to nature type experience. There’s a clean and well kept compost toilet on one side and that’s it (no water supply, so bring your own water). So if you won’t enjoy this kind of simplicity then it may not be the place for you.

The wildflower meadow was full of Skylarks which were busy right up to sunset and lovely to watch.

P.s there is good mobile signal from the site.

Gostou A beautiful, peaceful spot for back-to-basics camping. Lovely big pitches and a fantastic view. I stayed for one night and 3 pitches were booked, so the one compost toilet was enough but I can imagine if the site was full it could benefit from a second toilet. The owner was friendly and unobtrusive, and sold me some lovely fresh eggs at a very reasonable price.

Gostou Amazing views, unspoilt suroundings. Easy access to forest trails and hiking routes. Good for cycling. Firepits allowed, bring your own wood and water take your rubbish home.

Sunsets and sunrises- dark skies.

Back to basics for those that appreciate nature. If you need external stimuli, probably best not for you.

Não gostou Narrow access road with some steep hills and bends.

Avoid in a North West storm- quite exposed site.

There's always a downside to having the dark skies view of the stars and the clear sunsets etc, and that's having to go out of the way from towns and cities, so I fully understand where your coming from re steep hills and bends down the lanes and we are almost in the centre of the moors with Whitby just up the valley. If we could change all that we would be sadly not to be.. But we hope our kind of site is where you can go to get away from it all and enjoy nature in a peaceful setting and glad you enjoyed you enjoyed your time with us.

Gostou Had to unfortunately cut my stay short due to a notification my house alarm was going off (typical) but Harry was an amazing and helpful host and I will be back to actually complete a stay in the near future.
