Nothing like a bit of sea breeze to revitalise all your senses, eh? And there's plenty of that to be had around Samara Caravan Park, in the peaceful town of Skipsea. This East Yorkshire site is a short jaunt from several seaside towns: you can drive five minutes to the nearest beach (or follow the sound of lapping waves on foot) or get out to bigger towns like Hornsea (10 minutes' drive) and Bridlington (15 minutes). Meanwhile, the heritage grounds of Flamborough are 25 minutes away, where you can catch auks and gannets diving from chalky cliffs. A good antidote to hectic everyday life, this relaxed site is set up with facilities like toilets, showers and water points to top up your bottles or for your pots and pans, as well as a chemical disposal point. There are plenty of friendly faces on this family-run site, including an on-site warden, ready to point you in the direction of countryside jaunts, old ruins, and the best surf. Dogs are welcome at this site, so make sure you save a space for your furry friend. It’s a five-minute stroll to food shops, as well as a Yorkshire ice cream parlour (bubble gum ice cream, anyone?). Don't fancy cooking? Take advantage of the local pub garden two minutes away, where you can wet your palate with a warming cask ale or hot meal. Please note that fires and disposable barbecues are not permitted. Please note that pets must be kept on a lead as the site has free-range chickens.

Gostou The owner placed me inbetween 2 caravans to try block some wind when the storm hit. Also next to a regular incase I needed help. The neighbours were lovely. Couldn’t do enough for me and helped me pitch my tent up in the wind as I was struggling. Time neighbour even lent me better pegs. It was peaceful and quiet too and a nice first camping trip. Everyone made me feel welcome.

Gostou Tent pitches are lovely, staff great.

Não gostou Toilets and shower are beyond terrible. I’m surprised the park is allowed to be open. 1 women’s toilet. 3 men’s toilets but only 1 working. No locks on door. 1 shower. Very dirty. They are building a shower block which when we booked should have been done however it looks months off being completed.
Nowhere to wash dishes.
Parking barrier kept breaking.

Do gerente: The new toilet block will be ready in 3 weeks we’re extremely sorry about this. The weather this winter has push are finish date back which is out of are control. There one lady’s toilet. 2 men’s toilet that’s were working they were cleaned every couple of hours. We do admit the toilet block very old that’s why we got a brand new one been built

The entrance barrier exit barrier if the vehicle gets 2 close to the sensor it will automatically stop as or won’t lift as it thinks it going to damage the vehicle

There is WiFi available on the park for £2.50 which we had installed a lot of are regular use this service. The mobile single can be very poor sometimes different mobile service do work just depends who you are with.

Não gostou Park having a upgrade old toilet and shower block poor condition workmen start at 8 so don’t expect a quiet lay in and cleaner been using bleach to clean everything don’t smell very nice so don’t be disappointed with toilet and shower block if you book be warned

Gostou I liked everything, the location, Campsite was great shower and toilet spotless, 10 minutes walk from village pub with the best fish and chips I have had. I arrived on my motorcycle with a tent and forgot my towel and the owner was so kind to give me one, I will definitely be back.

Gostou We really liked the site and its location.

The staff also helped us out with an extension lead when ours failed to work, which we were very grateful of.

Não gostou The shower / toilet block and washing up station let the site down massively.
Seems as though a refurb is on the cards though soon, which would makes things a lot better.

Being just two miles from Fraisthorpe Beach (10 minutes’ drive), it wouldn’t be a holiday without time spent digging moats on the sandy beach, examining rock pools, or chasing the pup into the surf (it’s dog-friendly too) Further afield, more coves can be found at the chalk cliffs of Flamborough Headland Heritage Coast (30 minutes). The expanses of East Yorkshire countryside are right on your doorstep too. Pull on your wellies and prepare to hurdle the country stiles – and while you’re roaming, check out the earthwork left in the wake of the ruins of Skipsea Castle (two minutes), which used to be an old Norman motte-and-bailey fortress. You won’t be short of activities for the whole family in this area either. Perhaps prepare a picnic to enjoy on the grounds of the family-run working farm at Honeysuckle Farm (10 minutes). Then, pop by Mr Moo’s Ice Cream Parlour (two minutes) for some real mouth-watering Yorkshire dairy ice cream – orange marmalade, ticklee toffee, and blackberry slammer are just some of their out-of-the-box flavours. Less of a sweet tooth? Dig into a heartier meal in the beachfront pubs of Bridlington and Hornsea (each within a 15-minute drive) or venture into markets of Beverley (30 minutes).
