Surrounded by the spectacular landscape of the Yorkshire Wolds, with far-reaching views over open countryside, Field House is a peaceful farm site a 15-minute drive from the East Yorkshire market town of Driffield. Nature is all around here, with owl boxes in the high trees and a wooded area where you’re sure to spot (or at least hear) a variety of birds. Ponies, donkeys and cattle graze the surrounding paddocks, and colourful wildflowers can be seen in season too. On site, guests have access to eco-friendly compostable toilets and hot-water showers (including a roofless one where you can look up at the tree canopy during your ablutions). Other amenities include free USB solar charging and paid EV charging. Please remember to bring a torch, since there are no lights in or around the amenities. Take a walk on the vast network of public footpaths (including a 3.5-mile route to the local fish and chip shop), or hop on your bike and set off on the coast-to-coast route (Way of the Roses), which is directly accessible from the farm gates. Depending on what’s in season, some local produce is sold on site, including fresh eggs straight from the resident happy hens. There's a spacious, dog-friendly coffee barn on site with views over the Yorkshire Wolds, which serves a good selection of homemade food and has a licensed bar. Open every day (during the evenings on Friday and Saturday), it also has table tennis and sells locally made gifts. For more supplies, it's about a quarter of an hour’s drive to Sledmere House and Gardens, the site’s nearest stately home, with a well-stocked farm shop. Alternatively, you can head into Driffield – and not just for provisions, but also pub trips, meals out or waterside strolls along the Driffield Navigation.

Gostou What a lovely site. Owners are lovely, the place is family and pet friendly. Freedom to choose your own spot. A nice sight seeing walk. My children loved visiting the on site Shetland pony, donkey and visiting the chickens in the morning to collect a fresh egg🥚 Plenty of other positives that I havent wrote down. Overall excellent stay. Thankyou

Gostou It’s the little things like free wood for the fire. Each evening the landowner pops round and checks in. It’s such a peaceful place to be.

Gostou Great views, quiet flat pitch with water conveniently located at each electric post. The open shower in the trees is amazing and the coffee barn does great food and coffee and a lovely relaxing place to be. Reasonable 5G connection. Would definitely stay again. There's a nice play area for kids and fun to collect eggs direct from the chicken coup in the morning.

Gostou Pitched in a large well kept field as didn’t need EHU. Looks like the EHU pitches are being gravelled. Lots of space and freedom to pitch where you want. Site is great for walking and cycling. Coffee barn looked fab although shut when we got there.

Não gostou No one greeted us on arrival but there was someone around so I guess they could have checked up on us if they wanted. It was very quiet so pretty sure they knew which bookings had arrived.

Gostou Our third stay here.

Spacious grass non-EHU pitches, with a pitch where you like set up. There are maybe 8 or so EHU pitches as well and the owners were putting in some more hard standings. We had the site to ourselves, very peaceful save for some crow scarers going off on nearby farms.

Showers are under the trees, hot water but “airy” so chilly in early spring. Composting toilets were clean and tidy, although when the site is busier they can get untidy, but there is a number to call to alert staff.

Coffee barn is lovely, good coffee, tea and cakes with a bike hire/repair place and some locally sourced gift shop.

Handy walking routes directly from site.

Gostou Great site. Owner very friendly and helpful. Really eco friendly and this made it very interesting especially using the outdoor showers when the weather was quite cold.
It was very, very quiet when we stayed and we were one of four people camping.
Great barn/cafe on the site selling some lovely food and interesting crafts.
Will definitely return!

Designed by Queen Elizabeth I’s master mason, Burton Agnes Hall (25 minutes’ drive) is a great example of late 16th-century Tudor architecture. Its rooms house collections of decorative arts and paintings, while outdoor spaces include a walled garden with a yew maze and dense woodland with an adventure course for kids. Take a stroll around York city centre (40 minutes), taking in the Shambles and other cobbled streets lined with half-timbered buildings, before heading to the medieval York Minster, with its splendid stained-glass windows and rooftop walk. The Jorvik Viking Centre explores the city’s Viking heritage. For a day at the beach, Flamborough Headland Heritage Coast (40 minutes) has open beaches and sheltered coves, plus miles of chalk cliffs inhabited by guillemots and puffins (RSPB Bempton Cliffs). A lovely walk takes you up to the 17th-century Old Flamborough Lighthouse and on to the Flamborough Sea Arch, jutting out into the sea.
