Deer's Mead Caravan and Camping Park

Gostou On arrival the entrance to Deer’s Mead is very nice and the area is very well kept. We had a hard standing area for a caravan although we had a tent as we wanted the electric hook-up but there is a large grassy area for tents. The whole pitch is huge 😊 A really lovely pitch with hedges separating your pitch from others, and it’s very well looked after.
The shower block area and toilet facility is fabulous. The showers are incredibly hot and it’s a rain shower type which is lovely. The sinks are individual and it was very clean. I believe the shower block is cleaned twice a day ✅ It is a really lovely campsite 😊

Não gostou Only gripe is the fact the reception area is unmanned but telephone numbers are left if there are any issues. We should have had an email to say which pitch we would be on but hadn’t received this so had to call. All was resolved very quickly though 😊

Gostou How quiet and clean the site was. We was in pitch No 2, so close to the toilets and shower block.

Não gostou Pitch No 2 was in the shade nearly all day so got very little sunshine.

Gostou Everything about this site is first class, wonderful facilities kept extremely clean, very quiet and a bus service just a few mins walk connecting you to the coast or the city of Norwich.

Gostou This site was perfect for being peaceful and the pitches were big with handstanding.
We are a couple who like to use our own showers, however the showers were spacious and very hot, cleaned regularly, so we both used these.
The washer and dryer were a bonus.

Bonus to this stay was having a free display of Typhoons flying over head most days.

Não gostou There are 2 things that were a disappointment, the hedges needed a cut as they were long and brambles were growing wildly.

Because this is the sister campsite to Deers Glade unfortunately it is unmanned, so there was no meet and greet. We did however, get an email the day before to let us know which pitch we had been allocated.

I would highly recommend that maybe a representative could go to the site each day between a certain time to help or at least show that a member of staff is about.

Não gostou Premium priced pitch on a unmanned site. Second day ,
Had an infestation of ants, couldn't have the windows open, they were in the van, the awning and all over the grass
Difficult to contact the warden, they couldn't answer my email, landline answerphone message, because they were busy, came from sister site eventually.
Ant powder was administered, lasted about an hour before we were covered again we were told to order some ant powder from Amazon and have it delivered to their shop on the sister site, bit of a liberty,
Didn't see warden again
Shame we couldn't enjoy our well earned holiday, please avoid pitch 20 but we were not the only ones suffering after speaking to other caravanners on the site
Quite poor for the pitch cost £46 per night
Well disappointed to be fair
