If that sounds like a top getaway for your good and deserving self, break now for a stay at Marshlands Alpacas, an adults-only site with a fully licensed bar on site named The Alpaca Arms. A five-minute stroll from New Holland and the banks of the Humber estuary, this is a prime spot to use as a base for Lincolnshire explores, with plenty of peaceful trails nearby to follow (excellent news for long dog walks in particular). Walk or bike by the river’s edge to soak up views of the wildlife and passing boats, or wander along one of the public footpaths or easy jaunts to the surrounding villages. The historic market town of Barton-upon-Humber is a 10-minute drive (or a lovely five-mile riverside walk) away, with shops, pubs and access to the Waters' Edge Country Park. For a touch of grandeur, head instead to Normanby Hall and Gardens, half an hour away, to stroll among Victorian outbuildings, spot Bambi and pals in the deer park and tour the grand old pile of bricks at its centre. If the deer aren't dear to your heart, hang out with the fluffy herd of alpacas instead. At Marshlands Alpacas, there is an alpaca feed station open on busy weekends from March to September. The station also serves fresh coffee and a tasty takeaway breakfast, made all the better by the excellently scenic views across the countryside. New Holland has a handy village shop for any other foodie bits you may need, and its train station has services to Cleethorpes and Barton-upon-Humber.

Gostou From the moment we arrived to leaving the welcome from both Julie and Gary was fantastic. We had a drink at the alpaca pub on site and Julie made the effort to come and sit with us and chat whilst Gary on arrival into the bar was just as good a host (great outdoor seating area)The site is peaceful and very well presented with the onsite alpacas being a really welcomed addition. Food was very good cooked fresh on ordering. Facilities on very good, clean and tidy. We enjoyed so much we've booked a return visit for Nov. Would have gone earlier but we've got a booked up calendar.

Do gerente: As per arrival info sheet we ask if you see something say something when your here if you see an issue.
I deep cleaned Friday as I always do and clean everyday, with regular checks through the day.
I find it hard to believe you found issue and chose not to even mention a single thing when we are available and approachable with any issue.
We have not seen any major issues other than day to day use clean ups eg Skid marks between cleans etc. No issues reported regarding our facilities in person or on reviews.
We take great pride in our site and facilities, cleanliness being 1 of them.
And I definetly dont feel our facilities are grubby in any way.

Great site and lively stay.

Gostou Separate booths marked out between pitches is great. On site bar was a plus. Alpacas are great fun and right next to where you’re camping. Clean toilets while site is well kept. Ice cream and cafe open at advertised times. Pizza guy turned up which was a bonus too. Electric available if you wanted it. Covered area for dish washing. Small site so even when full it’s nice and spaced out and not too many people. Generally quiet and attracts nice folks who leave you alone or chat to you whatever you want. Owners were great, always about, but chatty and lovely.

Não gostou Not much. Be aware the bar is close and there is music but it’s not late (shuts off around 10.30) and if you’re into it then it’s no bother either, just means evenings can be noisy if you’re hoping for quiet campsite all the time. Campsite quiet otherwise and if you’re into karaoke with the locals you won’t care!

Gostou Lovely site, we where on pitch 12 which was one of the larger pitches , site is very well kept , toilets where very clean , alpacas where lovely to see , would highly recommend this camp site will definitely return soon.

Gostou Clean peaceful site. Spacious pitches with privacy hedges. We enjoyed a 3 night stay and really enjoyed it . Julie and Gary the owners made us feel really welcome. Nice bar on site and bingo on the Monday was fun. Got to feed the alpacas too. First time visiting for us but I’m sure it won’t be the last

You don't need to look far for things to do from Marshlands Alpaca. First of all, this is a lovely riverside area where peaceful walks on public footpaths should quite frankly be irresistable. There's a five-mile riverside path to Humber Bridge, for starters; back in 1981, it was the longest bridge of its type in the world, and it's still a grand sight to take in. From there, you have access to the historic market town of Barton-upon-Humber (otherwise a 10-minute drive). Stroll the streets, go café hopping or take your binoculars into the Waters' Edge Country Park to spy after stunning and rare birds, including the likes of bitterns and marsh harriers. For a little history, stop by The Ropewalk in Barton-upon-Humber, a converted 18th-century rope factory with a small museum, art gallery and a whole range of creative workshops to sign up for. The town also has the Wilderspin National School Museum, where visitors can walk through – and imagine themselves in – Victorian classrooms dating back to 1844.
