Gostou A nice big campsite with different fields and great facilities! Toilets/showers were spotless and warm enough even in the rubbish weather. We camped close to the path to the toilets, which unfortunately meant we were very close to the train line! Any light sleepers should avoid camping here. The games shed was a nice addition and I definitely appreciated having a kettle for hot drinks! Carts to take stuff to the campsite were also very welcome. Gill was lovely and friendly and made us feel very welcome!

Não gostou Only taken a couple of stars off due to the loud trains throughout the day and evening, although nothing that the owners can do about that. We may have been better off camping in the other field, although that was further from the toilets.

Gostou Fantastic spot for Ladybower Reservoir Ultra race - This was a brilliant place, just 10 mins down the road from the start line of the Ultra race - highly recommended for next year’s event! Met on arrival and given free choice to set up where I wanted. Big level pitches. Ladies shower block very clean, warm and lovely hot showers for after hiking and racing. Nice big barn with kitchenette complete with kettle so could settle in and study routes on rest day with endless cups of tea and made early morning coffee before race day super easy.

Não gostou The entry into the field has a large over hanging tree and a tree stump that limits the width of the entry point under the large tree.
As I have a vw crafter of 7 metres my van was wheel spinning on the stump and the trees scratched the sides of my van on the way in and out. Wouldn't be a problem for smaller vans at all. Just probably a little cut back needed for a wider entry point.

Gostou Good location. Plenty of space and pitches all flat. Main facilities clearly quite new and clean. Although we didn’t use it, can see how the games room is an added good extra especially if staying with kids.

Não gostou The issues with the water pressure were a genuine problem. First night we couldn’t have a a shower because they weren’t working. Second night we got in early and they worked great, but I know other guests struggled later. Third night they worked eventually but we’d tried earlier without success. It’s clearly a known issue and I’m sure it’s being worked on, but for me this really needs sorting especially for when the site gets busier - it was quiet during our stay.

The great news is that we have had heating and plumbing engineers working hard over the past couple of weeks resulting in huge improvements to the water pressure in the showers, sinks and toilets!

Shouldn’t be allowed to be a campsite. Very disappointed

We are really disappointed that you did not enjoy your stay and wish you had come to speak with us about it.

There was a series of power cuts, and low water pressure in the Hope Valley on Friday and Saturday, impacting businesses and homes. And whilst we haven't had it confirmed to us yet, it is likely the the power failings caused zero water pressure from the water main (Severn Trent) across the site, for some periods of the weekend.

We have an investment plan in place this winter which will buffer us from the failings of utility companies.

We apologies for the distress that the lack of power and Severn Trent's water supply seems to have caused you for your one night stay on Friday night.

We have been working hard on solutions to the intermittent water pressure drops, and outside of the water-board doing anything (they aren't being terribly helpful!) our plumbing and heating engineers have made some changes in the past week that have made a huge positive difference!

Gostou Beautiful site, good and sparkling clean facilities, lovely manager/owner, great location.

A genuinely beautiful spot that feels v private and natural while also having good flat pitches.
