Polubione We had a great stay at lizard view such a peaceful and relaxing site. Well located making it easy to get around Cornwall. Simon (owner) is very helpful and at hand if needed and carried out regular checks on the site and facilities.

Was really well priced and eletric available on most pitches. Newly built modern toliet block with a shower room and toilet and then more toliets and sinks in the next door along and 2 outdoor washing up sinks.

Not near any main roads so no road noise. I dont think there was any wifi but signal wasnt too bad.

Polubione We absolutely loved our stay at Lizard View. It’s a peaceful, relaxed campsite with incredible countryside views and plenty of space to properly switch off. Our pitch was a brilliant size for our large tent, and having electric hook-up made everything really easy.

One thing worth knowing before arriving is that the lane leading from the road down to the campsite is very narrow. I drive an electric Peugeot 3008 and she just about fitted, so take it slowly if you’re in anything particularly wide!

When you arrive, there’s a Ring doorbell at the campsite which you press to let them know you’re there. Simon came straight out to greet us, showed us where we were going and made us feel very welcome. We didn’t actually get to meet Sarah during our stay, but Simon was really friendly, helpful and approachable.

There are currently quite a few improvements and upgrades being made to the site, so at the moment there is only one shower for the campsite. There are separate toilets though, and we never found the facilities to be a problem during our stay. There are also two large outdoor washing-up sinks, which were brilliant and made washing dishes and cooking equipment really easy.

The site was clean, tidy and well looked after, and it was lovely and quiet. Mobile signal was also surprisingly good, which was really useful for looking up places to visit and planning our days.

Because of the dry conditions while we were there, charcoal BBQs weren’t allowed. We popped into Helston and bought an electric grill instead, which worked brilliantly with the electric hook-up, so it’s worth having an alternative cooking option in mind if you’re visiting during very dry weather.

We also have an electric car and found charging really easy — there’s a rapid charger in Helston, so we were able to top the car up while we were out and about rather than having to worry about finding somewhere further afield.

The campsite is also a great base if you don’t want to drive everywhere. We took the 34 bus to Lizard Point, which took roughly an hour. We bought unlimited travel through the Transport for Cornwall app for £10 per adult, which was really handy. The bus stop is about a five-minute walk back towards the main road, although it isn’t actually signposted. We stood on the corner where the route passes and, thankfully, the bus stopped for us!

The location was fantastic for exploring. We visited St Michael’s Mount, the Lizard, Poldhu, Helston and Falmouth, and loved coming back to the peace of the campsite afterwards.

The views from the site are incredible, especially in the evening. Once it gets dark you can see the flashing lights around Goonhilly Earth Station, the huge satellite communications site nearby, which makes the nighttime view even more unusual.

Definitely bring plenty of warm clothes though! We had gorgeous sunny weather during the daytime, but once the sun disappeared the temperature dropped dramatically. The nights were VERY cold, so lots of layers, warm bedding and something cosy for sitting outside are definitely recommended.

Unfortunately, the weather turned towards the end of our stay, so we decided to head home a day early rather than risk packing away our huge tent in worsening conditions. That was completely outside the campsite’s control and didn’t take away from how much we enjoyed staying there.

Overall, we had a BRILLIANT stay and would absolutely return. Lizard View is peaceful, spacious and brilliantly located for exploring this part of Cornwall, with stunning views and a genuinely relaxed atmosphere. Simon made us feel very welcome, and we’re looking forward to seeing how the site develops with all the improvements currently underway.

Polubione Idyllische Lage, tolle Stellplätze, gute sanitäre Ausstattung (die schon vorhanden ist). Zentrale Lage in Cornwall. Man kommt überall gut hin.

Niepolubione Der Zeltplatz befindet sich noch im Ausbau. Es ist alles Wichtige vorhanden, aber zum Teil noch unfertig. Uns hat das nicht gestört. Die zentrale Lage führt auch dazu, dass man überall hin mind. 20min fährt.

Polubione everything, the views were amazing. they had a new shower and toilet block with a communal fridge. most sites have the option of electric with spacious pitches. highland cows were over the road too!

Polubione Beautiful views, great communication, welcome brief and booklets received. Showers and toilet are lovely and clean. Nice picnic benches and good fields. Would recommend and will stay again when back in the area.

Polubione It was a beautiful setting on a lovely peaceful campsite.
It was our first time camping and Simon was very accommodating and approachable.
Toilets were spotless and cleaned regularly through our stay.
Location was central and stargazing in the evening was beautiful.

Niepolubione There had been an issue with the water (no fault of the campsite) in the area which meant we had no running water in the sink and no use of the shower for the first day. Simon did drop off 2 full bottles of water to our tent and provided water in bottles in the bathroom, which went above expectations.

Polubione We liked everything about the place, it was lovely and level pitches and we were met when we arrived by the owner, who gave us permission to pitch in any of the available spaces. Each pitch was a generous 10 x 10 mtrs and plenty of room to put your car along side. Every pitch had an optional electric hookup at £5.00 a day at the moment, which was excellent value. The toilets and shower block were unfinished on the outside but they were immaculate on the inside and very well monitored for cleanliness. A really good facility.
Simon the owner was always available at the press of a bell if he was needed. Barbecues were allowed as long as off the grass. Beautiful rural site hedged in on 4 sides and minimal traffic passing. Extremely good value for money and we will return for sure as our 4 grandchildren had loads of space to run and play games like cricket and badminton etc all at a rustic level which added to the fun. They were never board as we took lots of games but no electronic devices and they really got to enjoy the countryside at its best.

Niepolubione Although it’s not fair to call it a dislike and many sites would be the same, we found no car charging facilities a little tricky although not impossible, but after talking to Simon he explained that they were putting six 7 KW chargers in when finances allow. This is very much a developing site and it’s positively going 100% in the right direction.

Polubione A very calm and relaxed environment with a lovely toilet and shower block. Incredibly clean and very well looked after. We all had a lovely stay and the children had so much space to play cricket, football, tennis and any other games they could think of. Lizard view is perfectly set for local trips to either coast line and the Owners are very friendly and helpful.
