Euro 2012 and the Olympics - where to watch the action

Jun 7 2012 Gepost door Laura Canning

Watching the footie - a family activityWith the Jubilee over, now it’s time to look towards Euro 2012 and the Olympics. If you’re not going to make it to London to watch the Olympics action up close, you can still keep up to date at holiday parks this summer. And as for Euro 2012, well, we all know that football is at its best when watched with plenty of other people.

Plenty of caravan and holiday parks are getting fully into the sporting spirit of things, with big screens, surround sound and themed activities to get everyone into the mood:

Haven Holidays: Both Euro 2012 and the Olympics will be fully covered at Haven Holiday bars and complexes over the summer, with most parks also offering sports coaching for kids. They can try their hands at fencing and archery, or join the Coke FC Football Coaching programme to hone their skills before taking part in matches organised by age groups. Check with your planned park directly to see if they’re offering the coaching sessions and if you need to book for some of them.

Park Holidays: All 25 Park Holidays parks along the south coast have satellite TV so you can watch every match of Euro 2012 and all the Olympic action. There are special Euro 2012 offers on throughout June as well, such as 2 for 1 on drinks during matches.

Park Resorts: Fancy seeing – or taking part in – England v Germany? The Euro 2012 programme at Park Resorts will include themed family friendly tournaments where you can represent your favourite thing. If footie’s not quite your thing, there’s also plenty going on for the Olympics, with plenty of sporting events and activities on offer. Or you could try the All-Action-Afternoons which include Retro Sports Days for families.

Woolacombe Bay Holiday Parks: Stretch out and watch Euro 2012 and the Olympics in north Devon on the big screens, then take to the parks’ football pitches for a kickabout in their family five a side games. If you want to take a quick break from football, there's plenty going on nearby – for example, the Gold Coast Oceanfest surf festival is from 15-18 June and is near the Woolacombe Bay parks.
