With truly outstanding views across the Menai Strait to Snowdonia, Plas yn Llangoed is a small family-run campsite just five minutes’ drive from Beaumaris on the Isle of Anglesey. It’s a family-friendly spot in the grounds of a family house, with a relaxed vibe and the opportunity to do as much or as little as you like. Prefer to chill on site and admire the gorgeous mountain views or make the most of Anglesey, with all its stretches of sandy beaches, coastal walks and many historic attractions? However you choose to spend your time, this is a peaceful base with lots of spotless facilities; the owners Emily, Trig, Dan and Lizzie look forward to welcoming you. They are keen to develop an eco-camping experience at Plas yn Llangoed and are striving to have as little impact on the environment as possible. Wood is left stacked as bug hotels and hedges are being repaired and replanted, while you’ll hopefully spot buzzards, woodpeckers and owls around the place too. Now, those spotless amenities. Hot showers, wash basins and washing-up areas (please use the eco-friendly products supplied). A clever addition to the camping field is the campers’ shack with gas hobs, a fridge and USB charging points. Here you can help yourselves to free, sustainably sourced tea, coffee or hot chocolate during the day. No need to worry about breakfast either – pastries are available to order from the on-site shop, which also doubles as a café for that all-important morning caffeine fix.

Deze eco-vriendelijke camping heeft prachtige uitzichten en een relaxte sfeer. Gasten prijzen de vriendelijke eigenaren, schone faciliteiten (goede douches!) en gezellige gemeenschappelijke ruimtes zoals de vuurplaats. Ideaal voor Anglesey. Parkeren is soms wat verder weg, maar de meeste gasten willen terugkomen.

Saharatent

Ik was blij met Ive been solo camping for years and Plas yn Langoed is on of the most magical and safe feeling sites Ive ever stayed at. Despite everything being made from repurposed materials, the facilities were spotlessly clean, plentiful and stylish. I stayed in a blackout bell tent and slept very well.
Other highlights are the views of the Carneddau mountain range, the dark sky, close proximity to Beaumaris and the Ynys Mon coastal path and absolute peace at night. Only an owl broke the silence. Do take a head torch.
Towering above these highlights stands the owner Emily. She is passionate about the business and land, she is funny and friendly and you'll be hard pressed to find a warmer welcome.

Ik was blij met Great showers, with soap and shampoo supplied. Love the eco-friendly nature of this campsite. Lots of space, well set out campsite. Peaceful and quiet. Enjoyed being in a bell tent!

Ik was blij met The site was beautiful, well maintained, incredible views and the tent was just what we needed-clean, beautifully presented and it withstood a huge storm! Great facilities and lovely host who was kind and welcoming. We will definitely be back!

Ik was niet blij met The only improvement was a drying room or space would have been invaluable. This wouldn’t even need to be heated but a space for hanging wet things would make a huge difference as camping in wales and going to the beach this was an issue!

Ik was blij met Fantastic well thought out site. We felt very welcome. The view from our spacious pitch was amazing. Access to a fridge and communal cooking area was a real bonus. Also the best showers we have experienced camping! So quiet and peaceful, we left feeling well rested.

Culture fiends will find lots to occupy them on Anglesey: the medieval town of Beaumaris (five minutes’ drive) for starters, with its castle, pier and lovely seafront strolls. You have three attractions in one at Penmon Priory (10 minutes) – look for the giant cross inside the ruined Augustinian priory, an ancient well and 15th-century dovecote. Prefer a good stroll? Discover the ruins of Castell Aberlleiniog (half an hour’s walk) tucked into undergrowth in a nature reserve. Keen for some sea air? Anglesey Coastal Path (five minutes’ walk) leads past cliffs, sea arches and churches as it circumnavigates the island, and it’s an easy stroll to the lighthouse at Penmon Point (55 minutes) for views across to Puffin Island. Visit the island in person on a wildlife cruise from Beaumaris for the chance to see grey seals and dolphins, or up the thrill factor with fast-paced rib rides around the coast from Menai Bridge (20 minutes’ drive). Wear the kids out with paddleboarding and kayaking from Plas Menai National Outdoor Centre (half an hour), or for more sedate pursuits, play a round on the 18-hole course at Henlly Golf Club (10 minutes).
