Hideaway in the Hills

Ik was blij met A lovely quiet site with choice of pitch if you're there early. Large pitch, car allowed next to tent. Each pitch has its own fire pit( wood available to buy) and picnic bench, so table not needed.
Basic facilities but functional. Thought the large family wet room- changing table, loo, basin and shower, was a good idea.
Don't believe some of the negative comments about the access from the village- yes, single track but plenty of passing places. Just drive sensibly!
Railway station in Llanbedr if you want to go up or down the coast.
Pub in Llanbedr....seemed very popular for food which looked good
Plenty of walks.

Ik was blij met Secluded and quiet once all the kids went to bed, perfect for young children as its a big open field surrounded by fencing and a small wood to play in, the pitches are large and designated, you are not packed in like many other sites, which makes it easy to keep an eye on the kids, sunny sands beach , Barmouth, good pubs etc just down the road, beautiful nature reserve 5 minutes drive from the campsite, definitely coming back.

Ik was blij met We really liked: the tranquility, the cleanliness of the toilets and showers, the friendliness and helpfulness of the owner, the size of the pitches, the fire pits, the location for Harlech and Llanbedr.

Ik was niet blij met We disliked the midges, but it didn't spoil the overall experience

Ik was blij met I very much enjoyed my stay at Hideaway in the Hills. A superb location, one of the most beautiful valleys in Britain IMHO. The site was peaceful. The pod was great, very cute. The facilities were clean.

Ik was blij met Each pitch has its own picnic table and fire pit, there seemed to be lots of space between pitches but as we were the only ones there it was hard to tell. The owner was lovely, she chatted with us for a while. The facilities were clean.
There is even a shepherds hut that can be hired

Ik was blij met Spacious pitches and very peaceful. Facilities basic but always clean and never needed to wait to use anything. If you want to feel away from it all this is perfect. Owner very welcoming and helped us plan our days. Need a car to get to town or shops but if take a bike like we did you can cycle. Brilliant location for cycling as lanes around the site pretty much traffic free. WiFi works really well on the site too.

Ik was blij met The most beautifull camping we visited in Wales and maybe in all of Europe. When you set next to the small lake there are no sounds but the wind and the animals. We were there in the last days of september, the only people camping. And the solitude is just what we wanted and needed as two city people. The road to the campiste is a bit of an adventure but thats what we wanted :)
Einier, the owner, is very friendly and helpfull, and funny too :) We had nice chats every day and she works very hard to keep the whole place running by herself.
You can start hiking right from the camping itself. But within an hour you are in the sourt or noth of Snowdonia. So a perfect place to explore the region. Although google doesnt show it there is a small shop in Langbedr, down the hill, which has everything. Open till 9 with cold beers :) Also three nice pubs with decent food in the village.
If you want to feel away from it all this is the place to go!

Ik was niet blij met A lady on the campsite complaining the camping was to isolated and giving Einier a bad feeling over it, like she could anything about it. Dont be dumb, read the description. If solitude is not your thing go somewhere else. (still within the village in ten minutes)

Ik was blij met Scenic drive to the site.

Ik was niet blij met Everything. The facilities were filthy. The pod we booked was dirty and damp. No walk leaflets available as advertised. No information on drinking water. The owner was unwelcoming and just pointed to the pod. The bbq/fire pit was in a state of disrepair. Remnants of a campfire immediately in front of pod peppered with cigarette ends. Fridge was broken and dirty. Left after a couple of hours as campsite not fit for purpose. We asked for refund but was denied.
