Pen Y Parc Farm

Ik was blij met Before I arrived Melanie had been in touch with details about the site and how to find it.
She popped out to greet me on arriving (although it is difficult to sneak up in my car!) and suggested a lovely spot, away from the main field.
I prefer to tuck myself away by myself. The shade of the large tree was also very welcome in the 35 deg heat.
This area was next to the home of the friendly, inquisitive chickens. Not sure what the other campers made of my cries of "Get yer beak out my frying pan!", but, if you don't feed them or drop any food, they soon get bored. Besides their eggs (available to buy at the front for £2) were delicious, they can be forgiven :-)

Yes facilities are basic, one tap, one loo, but what more do you need?
There were never any queues for the bathroom. It was clean with plenty of loo roll and clean towels (so much better than air dryers)
The site was a perfect size and so peaceful, apart from the enthusiastic cockerel at 4am and the cow chorus at 5am but, it's a farm, what do you expect?!

There are so many walks you can take from the site. I definitely recommend walking up Halkyn Mountain to catch the sunset.

Living in Wirral, this is my 'local site' and I'll be returning and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to others.

Ik was blij met Quiet campsite, booked short notice, lovely host, explained everything on arrival, we were able to choose pitch rather than being allocated, plenty of places to hike, the occasional free roaming geese (made us smile watching them), clean toilet.

Ik was niet blij met A shower would’ve been nice, however we were aware there were no shower facilities when booking as it was clearly advertised (we only missed it due to the REALLY hot weather during our stay!). Certainly wouldn’t deter us from staying again.

Ik was blij met We loved the fact there was no pitch restriction, so you felt totally private .. There were other people in the field but with the distance, you didn't know they were there .Fresh eggs every day to buy , beautiful wildlife , very peaceful .

Ik was niet blij met There was nothing to dislike ? It's very basic camping with only a toilet and wash basin , but we are fine with that

Ik was blij met The simple set up. Left alone which is what we wanted. Easy access from A55.

Ik was niet blij met The Burning Witch festival going on nearby. Sounded like Slipknot were in the adjacent field until 10.45pm which kind of shattered the peace we were looking for, also rusting gas tank and assorted farm implements in field across the way, bit of an eyesore.

Ik was blij met Loved how peaceful and scenic it was even the hens came over to say hello and eat owners made you feel really welcome will definitely be returning had an amazing relaxing weekend

Ik was blij met Great location. Very relaxing and peaceful. Good pre visit information from Melanie and keeping in touch for arrival and pitch - which was really great for me and my 2 dogs.
Toilet very well sited and clean.

Ik was blij met Really loved the tucked away feeling of this beautiful little place.. the bulls were next to us as we chose the very bottom of the field.. Mel the host was very friendly and lovely to see their farm life! Lots of chickens and ducks 😍.. directions were very easy to follow and the pub was only half a mile to walk to.
My Dad thoroughly enjoyed it too and we will definitely be back to this serene little nook ❤️

Owners were very accommodating and friendly.
We loved our stay!
Nice pub a short walk from the campsite.
