Pen Y Parc Farm

A aimé Great welcome and plenty of information on local area, pubs etc. Nice level hard standing, water and CDP close by. Site small and very quiet. Managed a 4 mile walk from the site gate but weather was against us so took 30 minute drive into Conway which is well worth a visit. Full TV signal which is unusual in rural area.

A aimé Such a lovely, peaceful, quiet spot. Really nice pub 10 minute walk away which has a great pizza van come on a Thursday. Lovely gang of chickens come to visit! Back to basics, as described on the website, just what the doctor ordered!

N'a pas aimé very impudent chickens, no signs, you can look for a toilet for two days, as well as the camping itself, I do not recommend it to anyone

Réponse du gestionnaire : Hi Alex - sorry about the cheeky chickens. I do say to everyone that if you feed them they will befriend you and likely stay around. I sent a message to you 15 mins after your booking landed with specific instructions about how to get here, recycling and rubbish, water supply, and location of the toilet so I don't understand how you were not able to find it. And also, could you not have asked someone else? Same rainstorm as previous reviewer!

A aimé Before I arrived Melanie had been in touch with details about the site and how to find it.
She popped out to greet me on arriving (although it is difficult to sneak up in my car!) and suggested a lovely spot, away from the main field.
I prefer to tuck myself away by myself. The shade of the large tree was also very welcome in the 35 deg heat.
This area was next to the home of the friendly, inquisitive chickens. Not sure what the other campers made of my cries of "Get yer beak out my frying pan!", but, if you don't feed them or drop any food, they soon get bored. Besides their eggs (available to buy at the front for £2) were delicious, they can be forgiven :-)

Yes facilities are basic, one tap, one loo, but what more do you need?
There were never any queues for the bathroom. It was clean with plenty of loo roll and clean towels (so much better than air dryers)
The site was a perfect size and so peaceful, apart from the enthusiastic cockerel at 4am and the cow chorus at 5am but, it's a farm, what do you expect?!

There are so many walks you can take from the site. I definitely recommend walking up Halkyn Mountain to catch the sunset.

Living in Wirral, this is my 'local site' and I'll be returning and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to others.
