Set in quiet countryside near the western end of Loch Tay and around an hour's drive from Loch Lomond, Cruachan Farm Caravan and Camping Park is a family-run site in a great position for sightseeing around the southern Highlands and central Scotland. Whatever kind of accommodation you opt for, you'll have access to a smart and spacious park with well-maintained amenities like a toilet and shower block and a laundry room. The site is well under a mile from the banks of Loch Tay and close to lots of other outdoor attractions: watersports, birdwatching and tracking down ancient burial sites are all popular pastimes you can get up to in the local area. It's also a 15 minutes' walk from Loch Tay Highland Lodges, where guests are welcome to use the facilities. Cruachan Farm Caravan and Camping Park is a five-minute drive to the east of Killin, a scenic spot with a castle, pubs, a supermarket and waterside walks around the gorgeous Falls of Dochart.

Let op
  • Minderjarigen (18-) dienen te worden vergezeld door een ouder en/of officiële voogd.
  • Honden moeten getatoeëerd of gechipt zijn.
  • Op deze camping zijn hondenrassen/kruisingen die in de 'lijst met hoog-risico honden op agressief gedrag' zijn opgenomen, niet toegestaan. Denk aan de pitbullterriër en tosa, Argentijnse dog en fila brasileiro.
  • Groepsreserveringen voor 6 volwassenen of meer zijn niet toegestaan (met uitzondering van koppels en directe familieleden).
  • Het reserveren voor vrijgezellenfeesten is niet toegestaan via Pitchup.com.
  • Voertuigen met tandemas zijn niet toegestaan op deze camping.
  • Commerciële voertuigen (voertuigen die gebruikt worden voor werk en/of het vervoeren van goederen of betalende passagiers) en voertuigen met reclameboodschappen zijn verboden op het terrein.
  • Minstens één lid van het gezelschap dient 21 of ouder te zijn.
  • Voor het gebruik van de elektrische aansluitingen is een kabel van minstens 15 meter nodig.
  • Onderkomens die langer zijn dan 5 meter, zijn niet toegestaan.
  • Gasten moeten hun eigen dekbedden, kussens, lakens en handdoeken meebrengen als ze in een huuraccommodatie overnachten. Neem je deze spullen niet mee, dan mag je hier niet blijven.
  • Er is geen open vuur toegestaan in de gehuurde accommodaties.
  • Het opladen van elektrische voertuigen is niet toegestaan op het terrein.

Ik was blij met Quiet. Spacious. Just 2 toilets and 2 showers for women (and men?). Clean.

Ik was niet blij met Lots of static caravans. Rather dull.

Great location for walkers with near by Munros…

Ik was blij met Leaving Early!

Ik was niet blij met I accept its Scotland and rain is usual we came we prepared for a damp camp.
The Tent camp site is completely useless. basically two grassed hills 0 flat areas, no road or shingled path access just two muddy tire tracks half way up one hill which you will get stuck in. one or two 4 x 4s managed to get up there during dryer weather a day or so before but were packed face down hill to escape.
I checked out early and very politely aired my dismay at the inadequacies but the staff we completely indifferent and uninterested. We paid £300 to stay in the killin hotel instead. Again we came prepared for rain and mud etc. that's not an issue but trying to drive up steep muddy hills and destroying the grass is not worth it to then get utterly stuck. There should at least be a gravel track around the site to access pitches. I was most disappointed in the glazed look of indifference from the staff there and no i did not ask for a refund this is an honest review of the facilities for tent camping at that site.

Good location for hiking (Ben Lawers very close). Friendly staff. Facilities cleaned regularly.…

Friendly staff.
Facilities cleaned regularly.

Ik was niet blij met Drinking water location not very obvious.
Facilities are little tired.
Check in at neighbouring site.

Ik was blij met The loch the boathouse restaurant the staff were very friendly the scenery the cafe and the woman who worked there was extremely friendly and looked after us the campsite was clean and the toilets were always maintained

Ik was blij met Quiet. Plenty of space. Immaculate toilets. Powerful showers with hot water. Nice walk down to the loch.

Ik was niet blij met Water pressure in the toilet taps was a bit low.

Ik was blij met Beautiful views. Clean and functional facilities. Quiet and lovely if you went exploring and on-site and amazing wildlife spotting, which we loved.

Ik was niet blij met Check in procedure. I came with a caravan and had to go to the reception, 180 degree turn, back onto the road and back the way I came to get to the pitch. Could we maybe get our pitch number in advance or check in online?

Not criticisms but good to know:

Larger site with the reception block gets noisy with the hits of Taylor Swift belted out when we visited but plenty of quieter coves when you explored the woodland paths. Paths were slippy and muddy as you would expect in Scotland but good to be aware.

We needed our 25m electric hookup cable

Not sure how to summarise our stay. Just ok

Ik was blij met Very peaceful
Lovely countryside.

Ik was niet blij met No communal areas to sit and relax. Couldn't find anywhere to charge telephones. Only 1 picknic bench for the camping area, and that's not safe. Toilets and showers just acceptable

Lokale bezienswaardigheden

Starting locally, Killin Castle (five minutes' drive) is definitely a landmark to explore. While here, wander down past the pretty waters at the Falls of Dochart (five minutes) and keep an eye out for wildlife. Killin Golf Club (also five minutes) is a well-liked course with nine scenic landscaped holes to try, while just a little further away at Ben Lawers Dam (10 minutes) you can get a close-up view of one of Scotland's highest Munros. After exploring Loch Tay and the local area, it's a short enough drive to Loch Tay (20 minutes), where plenty of watersports and hiking trails are on offer. The village of Aberfoyle (an hour away) is very popular with off-road cyclists who appreciate its miles of well-maintained gravel tracks, and there's also a forest park with Go Ape, a visitor centre and a hide where beady-eyed visitors may spot red squirrels among the trees. For more heritage sights, try Castle Menzies (30 minutes), an imposing 16th-century clan seat, or Stirling Castle (an hour and 10 minutes), one of the most important and impressive historic buildings in Scotland.
